Punishment of father of flame and his wife
- There has perished both hands of a father of flame, and he has perished (111:1). His wealth has not helped for him and whatever he has earned (111:2). He will burn in a fire of flame (111:3). And his wife, a carrier of the firewood (111:4). Around her neck there will be a rope of palm fiber (111:5).
Note: The hands of the leader who ignited the fire will be destroyed and his wealth will not help him to save from burning in the fire, and also his wife who was a carrier of the firewood.
Surah al-Masad (The Palm Fiber) is a short surah consisting of 5 straightforward verses, in which God has confirmed the punishment of the leader who had ignited the fire including his wife who was a carrier of the firewood, and she will be resurrected with a rope of the palm fiber around her neck. Historically it is known that these two were prophet’s uncle and aunt.
