Reflection on certain mathematical facts at the salat prayer

We do not see God but His wondrous creations remind and confirm His presence in our hearts (3:191). The wonderful Quran is the guidance for us from Him, which comes to us in oral, textual and numeric forms. Numeric analysis is not only the physical proof that the Quran is God’s word but it has also strengthened our belief, addressed many questions and concerns, eliminated many of our doubt, confusion and misconceptions, and confirmed our religious rites to practice them in right ways. Hence, our reflection on mathematical derivations during observing of our everyday prayer may be a contributing factor to the perfection of it as God wants us to observe Salat and perfect it through practicing it over the period of time using our own ways and means to achieve it:

A. The chronological order of revelation and arrangement of suras in writing (see Appendix for details) based on divine instructions as to where to place every verse and sura including its naming as left by prophet Muhammad are confirmed using the code 19. If we place revelation no. preceded by sura no. for all suras, we get a 468-digit number which is divisible by 19 and the result is a 467-digit number:

518728939241125556397888113951105211531296137214541570165017691844194520732110322742310224422547264827492885298430573175329033583443354136563738385939604061416242634364446545664695471114810649345067517652235337549755465694571055810159916010961110621046310864996510766776726878697970717140723734743175987633778078817924807818282868383842785368688768881089359026919921193129428951962597100989399141003010116102131033210419105291061710715108181091141106111221122011321114 =

The revelation order number and sura number that participate in the above mathematical interpretation being the properties of the Quran prove that the positions of suras and the numbers as assigned to suras in the textual form are not only accurate and according to God’s will but it is also a physical proof that both revelation order and positions of suras in writing of the Quran have significant importance for us.

B. The commandment of observing Salat is found in 63 verses of 28 suras in the Quran and we have the mathematical confirmation of this commandment when we add the numbers of suras and their verses, we get 4674 which is divisible by 19 (4674 = 19x246).

C. God gave Adam and Eve specific words for their redemption upon asking Him for forgiveness of their sins (7:23, 2:37). Similarly, He has given us specific words which is sura Al Fatehah composed of 7 verses and 28 words. The digits of verse numbers (1234567) and number of words in it (28) participate in the mathematical interpretation being its properties to confirm it to be our specific words for our redemption as children of Adam:

i. 723 237 28     =  19  x  3806512 => asked God for their forgiveness.
ii. 723 + 237 + 28 =  988   =  19  x  52 => specific words were given by Him.
iii. 723  1234567     =  19  x  380591293 => specific words were recited as given.
iv. 1234567  237     =  19  x  64977223 => redeemed by Him.

In addition, our lips touch 19 times when it is recited. Let us see at a glance the sum of its digits of verse numbers, words and upper-lower lip touching including cumulative.

Verse Word Lip Touching
Verse # Cumulative Word # Cumulative Touch # Cumulative
1 1 4 4 4 4
2 3 4 8 3 7
3 6 2 10 2 9
4 10 3 13 2 11
5 15 4 17 1 12
6 21 3 20 2 14
7 28 8 28 5 19

D. The 19 occurrences of lip touching at the letters, Baa and Meem during the recitation of sura Al Fatehah are found in the following words:
a. 4Bs (Baa): 1. Bismil 2. Rabbil, 3. Na’budu and 4. Maghdoobi
b. 15Ms (Meem): 1. Bismil, 2. Rahmaanir, 3. Raheem, 4. Al-Hamdu, 5. Aalameen, 6. Ar- Rahmaanir, 7. Raheem 8. Maaliki, 9. Yawmid, 10. Mustaqeem, 11. Mustsqeem, 12. An’amta, 13. Alayhim, 14. Maghdoobi, 15. Alayhim.

E. Let us know the cumulative total of words and upper-lower lip touches with their implications during the recitation of the God given specific words (Al Fatehah).

Verse No No of Word Cumulative Total No of Lip Touching Cumulative Total Significance and implications
1 4 4 4 4 In the first verse we remember the name of God who possesses infinite grace and mercy. The number of words in the verse equals as many times as lip touches when it is recited. The verse has 4 words consisting of 19 Arabic letters having the unusual spelling of its first word where our lips touch 2 times at the same word.
2 4 8 3 7 We appreciate God being the Lord of the universe as well as the Master of the Day of Judgment. The cumulative total of words is 8 and that of lip touching is 7 when recitation of verse # 2 is finished which may imply that His dominion consisting of 7 universes (23:17, 67:3, 71:15) will be increased to 8 (universes) on the Day of Judgment (69:17).
3 2 10 2 9 This verse gives us an immense hope to achieve our redemption and forgiveness of our sins. Upon recitation of this verse, 10 words and 9 times of lip touching are finished and we get 19 if the number of words recited and times of lip touching are added.
4 3 13 2 11 The verse ensures that we are accountable to God for our works. 13 words are recited upon completion of the verse 4. There is a common view that 13 is unlucky for most but is lucky for some, which conforms to the consequences of us on the Day of Judgment (3:106) and (17:13).
5 4 17 1 12 Through the recitation of the 19-lettered verse, we express our total submission to God before asking Him to guide us in the straight path. 17 words are recited upon completion of the verse 5, which equals total units of Contact Prayer at 5 times a day and our lips touch only once at the word “Na’budu” during the recitation of the verse what may imply that God is only to be worshiped Who can give us what we need, which can be achieved through 5 times contact prayers (29:45).
6 3 20 2 14 Through the recitation of this verse, we ask for God’s guidance which has been repeated twice in the Quran informing us that God’s guidance is the true guidance (2:120, 6:71) and He guides the believers in the straight path (22:54). 20 words are recited along with 14 times lip touching upon completion of the verse 6, and our lips touch 2 times at the same word “Mustaqeem”. It may imply that the Quran revealed through His 20th prophet (6:83 – 86 & 6:89, 19:56 and 33:40) is the guidance for all the people until the end of the world (21:107, 38:87, 68:52). In addition, 14 sets of initials of the Quran are physical proofs of it (28:1-2, 31:1-2).
7 8 28 5 19 Through the recitation of the last verse, we ask God to guide us to the path of those who are blessed by Him as well as to prevent us from the path of those who have deserved His wrath or the strayers. Thus, 28 words and 19 occurrences of lip touches are accomplished upon recitation of the specific words as given to us through His 19th and the final scripture being our guidance repeated 19 times in it.

F. If we observe the Contact Prayer reciting all the words in Arabic, we need to recite 50 words that fall into the following 4 groups based on number of words in the verses/phrases:

a. 2-word recitation (6 = 2×3)
1. Allahu Akbar
2. Ar-Rahmaanir- Raheem
3. As’salaamu `Alaykum

b. 3-word recitation (12 = 3×4)
4. Maaliki Yawmid- Deen
5. Eh’dinaas- Siraatal- Mustaqeem
6. Subhaana Rabbiyal- Azeem
7. Subhaana Rabbiyal- A’laa

c. 4-word recitation (16 = 4×4)
8. Bismil-Lahir-Rahmaanir- Raheem
9. Al-Hamdu Lillahi Rabbil- Aalameen
10. Eyyaka Na’budu wa-Eyyaka Nas’taeen
11. Sami-a Allahu Liman Hamidah

d. 8-word recitation (16 = 8×2)
12. Siraat Alladheena An’amta Alayhim; Ghyril- Maghdoobi Alayhim wa-laa-Daalleen
13. Ash’hadu An Laa-Elahaa Ellah Allah Wahdahu Laa-Shareeka Lah

G. Mathematical analysis

  • All the chapters except chapter 1 in the Quran are given to us for our guidance is a logical decision which is confirmed from the mathematical interpretation using the properties, revelation order number and sura number of the Quran.
  • The commandment to observe Salat is confirmed by adding the digits of sura numbers and verse numbers where the instances of “Salat” are found in 28 suras.
  • 28 is the number of suras where the commandment to observe Salat in the Quran is confirmed, 28 is the sum of words in 7 verses of Al Fatehah and 28 is the sum of digits of its 7 verse numbers, which participates in the mathematical interpretation to confirm Al Fatehah to be our specific words that are recited during our Salat without combination of any other sura or any part of the Quran.
  • For the naming of Sura 1: الفاتحة (Al-Faatihah) God has not chosen a word from its content to name it like other suras of the Quran but He has chosen a word consisting of 7 letters in its spelling and the sura also consists of 7 verses. 7 (letters in its name), 7 (verses in the sura) and 5 (its order of revelation) are added, the sum is 19 [7 + 7 + 5].
  • The first and the fifth verse of Al Fatehah consist of 19 Arabic letters. The recitation of the specific words begins with the first verse in the name of God mentioning His 2 great attributes, Who has given us these words for His remembrance while the recitation of the fifth verse ensures our total submission to Him before asking Him to guide us in the right path.
  • Since our lips touch 19 times upon completion of the recitation of Al Fatehah where there are Baa and Meem in the Arabic words, which indicates that 19 is not only the common denominator of the Quran’s mathematical code (74:30) but it is also being used in our praise and prayer that we may or may not be aware of.
  • When Al Fatehah is recited, our lips touch 2 times at the same words, “Bism” at the first word and “Mustaqeem” at the twentieth word. It may imply that if we remember God, He will ensure the straight path for us.
  • The completion of recitation of 27th word “Alayhim” in the 7th verse of Al Fatehah makes a complete sense for clarifying the straight path for us but it is not a wonder for us that God has included 28th word “wa-laa-Daalleen” in the verse for explicit clarification as well as to provide us with an opportunity to mathematically confirm that this sura is to be recited without combination of any other sura or any part of the Quran during our prayer as 28 is a significant property of the sura that plays a very crucial role in the mathematical interpretation of Adam’s redemption as well as ours.
  • In addition to sura Al Fatehah consisting of 28 words, there are 6 Arabic phrases consisting of 22 words are recited in different positions during the prayer. The distribution pattern of word number is 2:3:4:8 in Al Fatehah, 6 Arabic phrases as well as in all the verses/phrases that are recited in Arabic in the entire Salat. So either inclusion or exclusion of any phrase or word may destroy this pattern.
  • If we add word number from each group, we get 17 [2 + 3 + 4 + 8] which equals total units of Contact Prayer at 5 times a day that may be a proof of 17 units of prayer.
  • If we add word number from each group but repeating twice from 2-word group, representing one for starting the prayer and the other for ending the prayer considering start and end being the significant events, we get 19 [2 (start) + 3 + 4 + 8 + 2 (end)] which may imply what we recite to start and end, as well as in between the prayer is appropriate and perfect utterances to remember and please God during the prayer.
  • Both the last verse of Al Fatehah and the Tashahhud consist of 8 Arabic words. The teaching of the last verse of Al Fatehah is to confirm the right path having double negatives while the teaching of Tashahhud is to confirm the right owner of our prayer having double negatives as well.

The above mathematical analysis clearly confirms that the verses of Al Fatehah and the phrases that we recite at all other positions during the prayer are given to us as designed by God. As our sincere efforts, if we reflect on implications and mathematical facts as mentioned during the Contact Prayer, it would help us concentrate to our prayer to perform it being fully devoted to God in addition to our reflection on all the words that we recite during the prayer. Thus, the mathematical facts that strengthen our faith can also be used to make concentration to our prayer to perform it as it should be performed to be eligible for the reward on the Day of Judgment (51:6) as promised by Him (19:61).
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
