[2:185] Ramadan which is a month has been sent down in it the Quran as guidance for the people (al-qur’aanu hudan lilnnaasi), clear proof of the guidance, and the statute book. So, whoever among you has witnessed the month, then he shall fast in it, and whoever has been ill or on a journey then (should fast) the prescribed number in other days. God wishes for you ease and He does not wish for you hardship, and that you may complete the prescribed number, and that you may glorify God through which He has guided you, and that you may appreciate.
Note: This is a crucial verse to understand that the Quran is a guidance, a clear proof of guidance and the statute book for humanity to do the righteous deeds being knowledgeable of it, while God has given us a ritual of fasting for the entire month for His such giving to guide us that we may appreciate.
[4:82] Do they not then study the Quran (yatadabbaruuna al-qur’aana)? And if it had been from other than God, they would have found in it numerous contradictions.
Note: There should not have any doubt in our hearts that the Quran is from God if we study it carefully.
[5:101] O you who have believed, you do not ask about things if it is made clear to you, may distress you; and if you ask about it when the Quran (al-qur’aanu) is being revealed, it is made clear to you. God has pardoned from it, and God is Forgiving, Forbearing.
[6:19] Say, “Which thing is greatest as testimony?” Say, “God is a Witness between of me and between of you; and has been revealed to me this – the Quran (wa-uuhiya ilayya haadhaa al-qur’aanu) that I (prophet) warn you with it and whoever has reached (it). Do you indeed, testify that with God there are other gods?” Say, “I (prophet) do not testify.” Say, “He is only One god, and indeed, I am innocent of what you associate.”
[7:204] And when has been read the Quran (quri-a al-qur’aanu), then you shall listen to it and shall pay attention that you are given mercy.
Note: There is no mercy upon the believers from God without having knowledge from the Quran.
[9:111] God has purchased from the believers of their lives and their wealth with that is the Paradise for them. They fight in a path of God, then they kill and are killed. A true promise of Him in the Torah and the Injeel and the Quran (wal-qur’aani). And who is more truthful to his promise than God? So, you shall rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted with it, and that – it is the greatest success.
[10:15] And when is recited our revelations to them as clear proofs, those who do not expect our meeting said: “Bring of a Quran (i`ti bi-qur’aanin) other than this, or change it!” Say: “It is not for me (prophet) that I can change it of my own, I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed, I fear the punishment of a great day if I had disobeyed my Lord.”
[10:37] And it has not been this – the Quran (wa-maa kaana haadhaa al-qur’aanu) could be produced by other than God, but it is a confirmation of that which was from before of it, and a detailed explanation of the scripture; there is no doubt in it, is from Lord of the worlds.
Note: God is author of the Quran, which is a detailed of the scripture, and has been revealed confirming the previous scripture that there should not have any doubt of it is from Lord of the worlds.
[10:61] And you cannot be in a situation, nor can you recite of it from Quran (minhu min qur’aanin), nor can you do anything, except we are witnesses over you when you are engaged in it. Nothing is hidden from your Lord, even of an atom’s weight in the earth or in the heavens, nor smaller than that or larger without being in a clear record.
Note: Here is a clear indication that with God there is a sophisticated system to maintain our records to ensure equitable judgment for all of us that may help us to avoid myth of intercession around us.
[12:2] Indeed, we have sent down it, an Arabic Quran (qur’aanan `arabiyyan)) so that you (people) may understand.
[12:3] We narrate to you (prophet) the best history in what we have revealed to you this- the Quran (haadhaa al-qur’aanu), even though you had been before of it (Quran) surely among the unaware.
[13:31] And if that it were a Quran (qur’aanan), the mountains could had been moved by it or the earth could had been cloven asunder by it or the dead could had been made to speak by it. No, with God is their believing. Do then not know those who have believed that if God had willed, He would have surely guided all the mankind? And those who have disbelieved will not cease to strike them a disaster for what they have done or it settles close to their homes until God’s promise comes. Indeed, God will not break the promise.
[15:1] Alif.Laam.Raa. That is of signs of the scripture and a clarified Quran (wa-qur’aanin mubeenin).
Note: The initial Alif.Laam.Raa is one of the signs to reflect that the Quran is clarified for the believers.
[15:87] And surely, we have given you seven of the pairs, and the great Quran (wal-qur’aana al-azeem).
Note: The seven pairs in the Quran refers to the fourteen sets of Quranic initials prefixed to 29 surahs of the Quran making it great being proofs of Quran from God, even a hint to predict an end of the word.
[15:91] Those who have made the Quran (al-qur’aana) in parts (accepting or rejecting some of it).
[16:98] So, when you have read the Quran (qarata al-qur’aana), then you shall seek refuge in God from the Satan, the rejected.
Note: The Satan is our great enemy who does not interfere in recitation of the Quran but he does interfere that we do not pay attention to understand or to interpret messages in it when we read it.
[17:9] Indeed, this – the Quran (haadhaa al-qur’aana) guides to that which is exact straight, and gives good news to the believers who do the righteous deeds that there is a great reward for them.
[17:41] And certainly, we have explained in this – the Quran (fee haadhaa al-qur’aani) that they may take heed, but it does not increase them except aversion.
[17:45] And when you (prophet) have recited the Quran (wa-idhaa qarata al-qur’aana), we have placed an invisible barrier between of you and between of those who do not believe in the Hereafter.
[17:46] And we have placed coverings around their hearts lest they understand it, and deafness in their ears. And when you have mentioned your Lord in the Quran alone (fee al-qur’aani wahdahu), they have turned on their backs in aversion.
Note: Even Quran is a good news of a great reward for the believers, but is a bad news for those who have been placed coverings on their hearts and deafness in their ears that they do not understand it.
[17:60] And when we said to you (prophet), indeed, your Lord has encompassed of the mankind, and we have not made the vision which we had showed you was a test for the mankind, and the tree of the accursed in the Quran (fee al-qur’aani). We threaten them, but it does not increase them except a great transgression.
Note: Here refers that the prophet’s soul was visualized the tree of test for mankind when he had been taken to the ultimate point to inspire the Quran all at once, and he saw great signs of God (53:18).
[17:78] You (prophet) shall establish the salat prayer at declining of the sun towards darkness of the night, and shall read Quran at the dawn (wa-qur’aana al-fajri). Indeed, reading Quran at the dawn (qur’aana al-fajri) has been a witnessed.
Note: Righteousness can be achieved through establishing Salat prayers as well as studying the Quran and studying it at dawn is very effective to understand it to have guidance from it.
[17:82] And we reveal of the Quran (mina al-qur’aani), what is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase except loss to the wicked.
[17:88] Say, “If the human and the Jinn were united together to that they would come up with like of this – the Quran (bi-mithli haadhaa al-qur’aani), they could not come up with like of it, even if they were helpers of them to other.”
[17:89] And certainly, we have explained for the people in this – the Quran (fee haadhaa al-qur’aani) with every example, but most of the people have refused just for disbelief.
[17:106] And a Quran (wa-qur’aanan) we have divided it that you may read it to the people over a period of time; and we have revealed it a (gradual) revelation.
[18:54] And certainly, we have explained for the people in this – the Quran (fee haadhaa al-qur’aani) with every example, but the mankind has been argumentative in most things.
[20:2] We did not send down the Quran (al-qur’aana) to you to cause any distressed to you.
[20:113] And thus that we have sent down it, an Arabic Quran (qur’aanan `arabiyyan), and we have explained in it of the warning that they may fear (Me), or it may bring a reminder for them.
[20:114] So has been high is God – the King, the Truth. Do not hasten with the Quran (bil-qur’aani) before that, its revelation is completed to you (prophet), and say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
[25:30] And the messenger said: “O my Lord, indeed, my people have taken this- the Quran (haadhaa al-qur’aana) as the deserted one.”
[25:32] And said those who have disbelieved: “Why not has been sent down to him the Quran all at once (al-qur’aana jum’latan waahidatan)!” It is thus that we may strengthen your (prophet) heart with it, and we have recited it a gradual recitation.
Note: The Quran has been sent down in two methods: (1) God Himself inspired the entire Quran into prophet’s soul, (2) then the Gabriel had brought down it piece by piece from God to release it from prophet’s soul to his heart to read it to the people over a period of time.
[27:1] Ta.Seen. That is of signs of the Quran (al-qur’aana) and a clarified scripture.
[27:6] And indeed, you (prophet) are surely given the Quran (al-qur’aana) from Wise, Knower.
[27:76] Indeed, this – the Quran (al-qur’aana) narrates to the Children of Israel, most of that they differ in it.
[27:92] And that I recite the Quran (atluwaa al-qur’aana). So, whoever has been guided, then he is only guided for his soul, and whoever has gone astray, then say, “I (prophet) am only one of the bearers of warning.
Note: Quran is a clarified scripture given to Muhammad who recited it to the people, and those who have accepted it have been guided for their own good, but those who have rejected it have gone astray, while the prophet had no responsibility for them being he is just a bearer of warning.
[28:85] Indeed, Who has decreed the Quran (al-qur’aana) upon you (prophet) will surely be taking back of you to a place of return. Say: “My Lord is aware of who comes with the guidance and whoever he is in a faraway straying.”
[30:58] And we set forth for mankind in this – the Quran (fee haadhaa al-qur’aana) of every example. And if you bring to them a proof, those who have disbelieved will say: “You are none but falsifiers!”
[34:31] And said those who have disbelieved: “We will not believe in this – the Quran (bi-haadhaa al-qur’aani), nor in that which was before of it.” And if you could see when the transgressors are made to stand before their Lord, will cast the blame of them to other. Those who had been oppressed (followers) will say to those who had been arrogant (leaders): “If it were not you, surely, we would had been believers!”
Note: God has made it a requirement for the believers to believe in the Quran as well as what He had sent down before of it.
[36:2] And the Quran, the wise (wa-al-qur’aani al-hakeemi).
[36:69] And we have not taught him (prophet) the poetry, nor does it befit for him. It is not except a reminder and a clarified Quran (wa-qur’aanun mubeenun).
[38:1] Saad and the Quran possessing the warning (wal-qur’aani dhee al-dhikri).
[39:27] And certainly, we have set forth for the people in this – the Quran (fee haadhaa al-qur’aani) of every example that they may take heed.
[39:28] An Arabic Quran (qur’aanan `arabiyyan) without having any crookedness that they may be righteous.
[41:3] A scripture of Arabic Quran (qur’aanun `arabiyyan) has been explained its verses for a people who know.
[41:26] And said those who have disbelieved: “Do not listen to this – the Quran (laa-tasma`uu li-haadhaa al-qur’aani) and make a chaos around it that you may win.”
[41:44] If we had made it a non-Arabic Quran (qur’aanan aa“jamiyyan), they would have said, “Why has not been explained verses of it?” Is it non-Arabic or Arabic? Say, “It is for those who have believed, is a guidance and a healing, but those who do not believe, in their ears there is deafness and it is for them there is blindness. Those are being addressed from a faraway place.”
Note: Quran has been revealed in Arabic detailing teachings of God to make clear in hearts of the true believers to find their guidance, but language may be an excuse for the wicked not to take initiatives.
[42:7] And thus that we have revealed to you (prophet) an Arabic Quran (qur’aanan `arabiyyan) that you may warn mother of the cities (Makkah) and whoever is around it, and you may warn of a Day of the Gathering, there is no doubt in it. A party will be in the Paradise, and a party will be in the blazing Fire.
[43:3] Indeed, we have made it an Arabic Quran (qur’aanan `arabiyyan) that you may understand.
Note: Quran is revealed in Arabic to better understand as well as not to miss any command in it.
[43:31] And they said: “Why not has been sent down this – the Quran (haadhaa al-qur’aana) to an eminent man of the two towns (Makkah and Yathrib being former name of Madinah)?”
[46:29] And when we had directed a group of the Jinn to you (prophet) to listen to the Quran (al-qur’aana), then when they had attended it, they said: “Pay attention.” Then when it had been completed, they returned to their people as bearers of warning.
Note: The Quran is not only a reminder and a warning for the mankind but also for the Jinn
[47:24] Then do they not study the Quran (al-qur’aana) or are there locks on their hearts?
[50:1] Qaf and the glorious Quran (wal-qur’aani al-majeedi).
[50:45] We know best of what they say, and you are not of a compeller over them. So remind with the Quran (fa-dhakkir bil-qur’aana) whoever may fear My warning.
Note: It was an order from God for the prophet to recite the Quran to the people to fear His warning.
[54:17] And that certainly, we made the Quran straightforward for the warning (yassarnaa al-qur’aana lil’dhikri). So, is there whoever will accept the warning?
[54:22] And that certainly, we made the Quran straightforward for the warning (yassarnaa al-qur’aana lil’dhikri). So, is there whoever will accept the warning?
[54:32] And that certainly, we made the Quran straightforward for the warning (yassarnaa al-qur’aana lil’dhikri). So, is there whoever will accept the warning?
[54:40] And that certainly, we made the Quran straightforward for the warning (yassarnaa al-qur’aana lil’dhikri). So, is there whoever will accept the warning?
Note: The above verse has been repeated 4 times in the surah followed by the events of destruction of 4 communities of the disbelieving people in the past, is a warning for us but to interpret memorization of Quran by many, is not except misinterpretation in the context.
[55:2] He (The Most Gracious) taught the Quran (`allama al-qur’aana).
Note: God is not only author of the Quran but He is also teacher of it that we may learn from it.
[56:77] Indeed, it is surely an honorable Quran (innahu la-qur’aanun kareemun).
[59:21] If we had sent down this – the Quran on a mountain (haadhaa al-qur’aana `alaa jabalin), surely, you would have seen it humbled being crumbled from fear of God. And that is of the examples we set forth it for the people so that they may reflect.
[72:1] Say: “It has been revealed to me (prophet) that it has listened a group of the Jinn,” then they said: “indeed, we have heard a wondrous Quran (qur’aanan ajaban)!”
[73:4] Or you (prophet) shall add to it, and shall recite the Quran (al-qur’aana) progressive recitation.
[73:20] Indeed, your Lord knows that you (prophet) may stay awake less than two-thirds of the night, and a half of it, and one-third of it, and a group of those who are with yourself. And God determines the night and the day. He has known that you cannot adhere to it, so, He has turned to you. So, you shall read what has been easy of the Quran (fa-iq’rauu maa tayassara mina al-qur’aani). He has known that there will be sick among you, and others will travel in the land seeking for God’s bounty, and others will fight in a path of God. So, you shall read what has been easy of it, and shall establish the salat prayer and shall give the zakat and shall loan God a good loan. And whatever of good you send forth for yourselves, you will find it with God, it is better and a greater reward. And you shall seek forgiveness of God; indeed, God is Forgiving, Merciful.
[75:17] Indeed, upon us is its collection and its recitation (wa-qur’aanahu).
[75:18] So, when we have recited it, then you (prophet) shall follow its recitation (qur’aanahu).
Note: The prophet recited what had been recited to him without any change or explanation of it.
[76:23] Indeed, we have sent down to you (prophet) the Quran a gradual sending down (al-qur’aana tanzeelan).
[84:21] And when has been read the Quran (wa-idhaa quri-a al-qur’aanu), they do not prostrate.
Note: A reminder to pay attention to Quran when we read it, but not an order for physical prostration.
[85:21] Indeed, it is a glorious Quran (qur’aanun majeedun).
Mathematical Confirmation
69 instances of Quran are found in 68 verses of 37 surahs in the Quran, and if the relevant verse and surah numbers are added, the sum is a multiple of 19 => 4503 (19x231) as shown below:
Note: The instance of Quran found in 13:31 is not included in the mathematical calculation as this instance of Quran does not exist but the message in the verse is very important to understand that no one can believe in the Quran except God wills, which means the believers are those whom God has guided, while a punishment is waiting for the disbelievers.
In brief, the core message from reviewing of instances of Quran in the Quran is the Quran is a clarified Quran and scripture having clear proofs being a guidance for the mankind and the statute book, while it is a good news for the believers and a warning for the disbelievers. It has been sent down in Arabic detailing teachings of God to make it clear in the hearts of the true believers to find their guidance to a straight path to their Lord, while there is no mercy upon the believers without having knowledge from the Quran. Thus, it is mercy and healing for the believers sent down in Arabic to understand it, while the language would not be an issue for the believers to make initiatives to learn from it for their good, except for the disbelievers who will make the language an excuse for their disbelief. God has set forth every example in the Quran for the mankind so that they can take heed, while He has made it straightforward with the warning to accept whoever wishes to find a path to his Lord. God asked the prophet to warn with it the people of Makkah and those who were around it, and we do not see any order for us to highlight him to be a prophet of the world, while the Quran is a reminder for the people of the world, and it is not only a guidance for the mankind but also for the Jinn. But it is a bad news for the people who have not true belief in the Hereafter are prevented from understanding it, while we may think of a people who have knowledge of the Quran from their dresses and voices, even from their presence around the religious occurrences/festivities, but we may not realize that they are prevented from understanding it having coverings on their hearts and deafness in their ears. However, the Arabic Quran is sent down with warnings and signs that it may serve as a reminder for those who wish to avoid the painful retribution on a Day of the Resurrection through worshiping God alone knowing it to be only the basis for exposing the people whether they are the believers or the disbelievers.
God has let us know that He has explained the verses of the Quran and sent down it in two methods: (1) the Quran all at once and (2) the Gabriel brought down it piece by piece from God to recite to the people over a period of time, while He has assigned four of His own attributes to the Quran: (1) wise, (2) honorable, (3) glorious and (4) great, and has encouraged us to read it at the dawn and a portion of the night as much as we can read to have our knowledge of guidance from it being regular like establishing the salat prayer, giving the zakat and giving a good loan to Him to be righteous. Thus, we may prepare ourselves for the Hereafter knowing that God has purchased the lives and wealth of the believers with the Paradise and reflecting that He has given us a wonderous Quran giving in it a hint for making the prediction of an end of the word, but having no contradiction in it to achieve our goal trusting upon God and His guidance. And Quran has been mentioned 70 times in the Quran, which is a Quranic number and the mathematical confirmation of instances of Quran spread out throughout the Quran excluding one instance having no existence give the believers a sense of security to achieve their goal to save them in the Hereafter when they meet their Lord.
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
Tafazzal (04/25/2019 and 05/02/25 and 05/09/2025).
