Introduction
God has sent prophets and messengers from time to time with His messages supported by signs so that the people can accept them and follow the message sent with them. These signs are supernatural phenomena specifically known as miracles came down to us from the past. There is mention of nine miracles in the Quran given to Moses to face Pharaoh for saving the people of Israel from his oppression while Jesus presented 37 miracles by God’s leave as mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Moses was given 10 commandments while both Moses and his brother, Aaron was given a statute book. We do not exactly know the name of their book but what we know all the books given to the Jewish prophets were compiled as the Torah (Taurat) while Jesus was given the Gospel (Injeel) and he was also taught the Torah as well.
Prophets and messengers who are given what
Here is a set of verses from the Quran that talk about the miracles given to some prophets and messengers so that we can have a better understanding of making a clear distinction between the message and the miracle(s) given to them:
Miracle given to Saleh
Saleh was sent to Thamood with a core message to worship God as there is no god other than Him supported by the she-camel, which used to drink water in specific days:
[7:73] And to Thamood, we sent their brother Saleh, he said: “My people, worship God, you have no god other than Him. Indeed, a clear proof has come to you from your Lord. This is a God’s camel (she-camel) for you is a sign, so leave her to eat in God’s land, and do not touch her with harm, lest the painful retribution seizes you.
[7:74] “And remember when He made you (Thamood) successors after ‘Aad, and He settled you in the land. You make palaces from its plains and you carve out the mountains as homes. So remember God’s grace, and do not act wickedly in the earth as the corruptors.”
[7:75] The arrogant leaders among his people said to those who believed among the prevented ones, “How do you know that Saleh is sent from his Lord?” They said, “What (the message) is sent with him has made us believers.”
[7:76] Those who were arrogant said: “Indeed, we are disbelievers in that you believe with him.”
[7:77] So they slaughtered the camel, and were disrespectful to their Lord’s command, and they said: “O Saleh, bring us what you promised us if you are a messenger.”
[7:78] Then the earthquake took them, so they became lifeless in their homes.
[11:61] And to Thamood their brother Saleh was sent. He said: “My people, worship God, you have no god other than Him. He produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask His forgiveness, then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Near, Responsive.”
[11:62] They said: “O Saleh, you were among us who could most likely be trusted before this. Do you forbid us from worshipping what our forefathers worshipped? And we are surely in doubting of what you call us to it.”
[11:63] He said: “O my people, do you know if I am on the clear proof from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Him, then who could help me against God if I would have disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me other than loss.
[11:64] “And O my people, this God’s camel (she-camel) is a sign for you, so leave her to eat in the God’s land, and do not touch her with harm, lest an impending retribution will seize you.”
[11:65] But they slaughtered her. So he said: “Enjoy three days in your homes. That is a promise not to be belied.”
[11:66] So, when our command came, we saved Saleh and those who believed with him with a mercy from us and from the disgrace of that day. Indeed, your Lord is the Powerful, the Almighty.
[17:59] And we did not stop sending of the signs except that the people of the earlier generations had denied with them. And we gave Thamood the camel (she-camel) as a visible sign but they wronged her. And we do not send the signs except for a warning.
[26:141] Thamoud disbelieved the messengers.
[26:142] Their brother Sãleh said to them, “Will you not fear?
[26:143] ” Indeed, I am a faithful messenger to you.
[26:144] “So you shall fear God, and obey me.
[26:145] “And I do not ask you for it any wage; my wage is not but with Lord of the universe.
[26:146] “Will you be left secure in what is here?
[26:147] “In gardens and springs.
[26:148] “And crops and date palms with their soft spadices.
[26:149] “You carve out of the mountains as homes with great skills.
[26:150] “So you shall fear God, and obey me.
[26:151] “And do not obey the command of the transgressors.
[26:152] “Those who spread corruptions in the earth but never reform.”
[26:153] They said, “You are just bewitched.
[26:154] “You are no more than a human like us, so bring a sign, if you are truthful.”
[26:155] He said: “This is a camel (she-camel) which will have to drink and you will drink on a specific day.”
[26:156] “And do not touch her with harm, lest the retribution of a great day will seize you.”
[26:157] But they slaughtered her, then they became regretful.
[26:158] So the retribution seized them. Indeed, in that there is a lesson, but most of them are not believers.
[26:159] Indeed, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
[54:23] Thamood denied the warnings.
[54:24] They said, “Shall we follow a human, one among us? Indeed, we will then surely, go astray and Hell.
[54:25] “Has the reminder been sent with him, instead of us? He is a great liar.”
[54:26] They will know tomorrow who the great liar is.
[54:27] Indeed, we are sending the camel (she-camel) as a test for them. So watch them and be patient.
[54:28] And inform them that the water shall be divided between them; each shall be allowed to drink in the specified time.
[54:29] But they called on their friend, so he took to slaughter.
[54:30] So, how was My retribution and My warnings?
[54:31] Indeed, we sent upon them one blast, and they became like harvested hay.
Miracles given to Joseph
Joseph was given a scripture supported by the ability to interpret the dreams that helped him to get rid of prison as well as to prove him innocent from the accusation of sexual assault:
[12:46] “Joseph, O the truthful one, explain to us about the seven (sab’i) fat cows are being eaten by seven (sab’un) thin ones and seven (sab’i) green ears and dry others that I may go back to the people so that they may know.”
Note: The above verse is a description of the king’s dream.
[12:47] He said: “You will sow as usual for seven (sab’a) years, but whatever you reap, then leave it in its ears, except for a little that you will eat.”
[12:48] “Then after that seven (sab’un) (years) are hard (drought), which will consume what you have in advance for them except a little of what you will store.”
Miracles given to Moses
Moses was given ten commandments and a statute book along with Aaron supported by nine miracles and many other favors to face Pharaoh as well as to save the Children of Israel from the oppression of Pharaoh:
[17:101] And we had given Moses nine clear signs. So ask the Children of Israel, when he came to them, then Pharaoh said to him: “I think that you Moses are bewitched!”
[27:9] “O Moses, I am God, the Almighty, Most Wise,
[27:10] throw down your staff”. When he saw it moving like a demon, he turned around and fled. “O Moses, do not be afraid. My messengers shall not fear,
[27:11] except those who commit a transgression, even then substitute righteousness after sinning; I am Forgiving, Most Merciful,
[27:12] put your hand in your pocket; it will come out white, without a blemish”. These are among nine miracles to Pharaoh and his people, for they are wicked people.
Miracles given to Jesus
Jesus was given the Gospel (Injeel) and also taught the Torah supported by many miracles around creating a live bird shaping from the clay, healing the blind and the leapers, and giving life to the dead by God’s leave:
[2:87] We gave Moses the scripture, and subsequent to him we sent other messengers, and we gave Jesus, son of Mary, profound miracles and supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it not a fact that every time a messenger went to you with anything you disliked, your ego caused you to be arrogant? Some of them you rejected, and some of them you killed.
[3:49] And a messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; that I create for you from clay the form of a bird, then I blow into it, so it becomes a bird by God’s leave, and I heal the blind and the leapers, and give life to the dead by God’s leave, and I can inform you of what you eat and what you store in your homes. In that is a sign for you if you are believers.”
[5:110] When God said: “O Jesus son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother that I supported you with the Holy Spirit; you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and I taught you the scripture and the wisdom, and the Torah and the Injeel; and when you make the shape of the bird from the clay, then blow into it so it becomes a bird by My leave; and you heal the blind and the leaper by My leave; and when you bring forth the dead by My leave; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you, when you came to them with the clear proofs, then those who disbelieved amongst them said: ‘This is not but clear magic!'”
Miracle given to Muhammad
Muhammad was given the Quran, the final scripture but no visual miracle except for indicating it enough for him, which is being recited to them in response of the concern of miracle raised by the wicked with a challenge to produce it or a part of it while it is mentioned in the Quran that a visual sign was stopped as it did not work for the disbelievers of the earlier generations (17:59):
[2:118] And those who do not know said: “Why not God speaks to us, or a sign comes to us?” It is like that of those who said before them is similar to their saying. Their hearts are alike. Indeed, we have clarified the revelations for a people who truly believe.
[6:37] They said, “Why is not a sign sent down to him (Muhammad) from his Lord?” Say, “God is able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.”
[7:203] And when you do not bring them a sign, they say: “Why have you not got it?” Say: “I only follow what is inspired to me from my Lord. This is enlightenment from your Lord, and guidance and mercy to a people who believe.”
[10:20] And they say: “Why not a sign is sent down to him from his Lord.” Then say: “The future is only with God, so wait, indeed, I am waiting along with you.”
[29:49] In fact, these revelations are clear in the chests of those who are given the knowledge, and none reject our revelations except the wicked.
[29:50] And they (the wicked) said, “If only miracles would come down to him from his Lord!” Say, “All miracles belong to God, and I am just a warner.”
[29:51] Is it not enough for them that we sent down to you (Muhammad) the scripture, which is recited to them? In that (Quran), there is indeed, a mercy and a reminder (dhik’raa) for a people who believe.
Note: The verse, 29:51 is a statement in response of the concern of miracle raised by the wicked in the previous verses about the miracles they wished to see to come down with the prophet, wherein there is an indication that the Quran is the message as well as the miracle given to Muhammad.
[2:23] And if you are in doubt of what we have sent down to our servant, then produce a chapter like it, and call your witnesses from other than God if you are truthful.
[2:24] But if you cannot do; and you will never be able to do, then fear the Fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.
[10:38] Or do they say he (Muhammad) invented it? Say: “Then produce a chapter like it, and call whoever you can from other than God if you are truthful!”
[11:13] Or do they say he invented it? Say: “Then produce ten invented chapters like it, and call whoever you can from other than God if you are truthful.”
[17:88] Say, “If the human and the Jinn were united together to bring a Quran like this, they could not bring one like this, even if they were helpers of one another.”
Note: What the challenge means to us that Quran is a treasure of knowledge and wisdom, which is impossible to provide in it even though it is claimed that the equal literacy excellence is maintained fabricating it or its part.
Miracle given to Rashad
Rashad, a messenger of covenant (3:81) is given the mathematical coding of Quran supported by the number 19, which is a sign and also the common denominator of numerical analysis of Quran:
[74:30] Over it is nineteen.
[74:31] And we have not made guardians of the Fire except angels, and we have not made their number except a warning for those who disbelieved, that it may ascertain those who have been given the scripture (Jews and Christians) and may increase faith of those who have believed (Muslims), and may not doubt those who have been given the scripture (Jews and Christians) and the believers (Muslims). And that may say those in their hearts there is a disease (hypocrites) and the disbelievers, “What has God meant by this allegory?” Thus, God misguides whomever He wills and He guides whomever He wills. And none knows your Lord’s soldiers except He. And it is not except a reminder for the human race.
[74:32-34] Absolutely, (I swear) by the moon. And the night as it passes. And the morning as it shines.
[74:35] Indeed, this is undoubtedly one of the greatest.
[74:36-37] A warning to the human race. For those among you who wish to advance or regress.
Note: 19-based mathematical coding of the Quran is the message (74:30-37) while 19 is a prophetic sign (miracle) for the messenger in the message as well (74:30 & 35).
Conclusion
What we understand about the miracles from the religious point of view are the divine signs associated with the prophets and messengers chosen to deliver a particular message or to preach it to the respective community. All prophets and messengers came before the revelation of the Quran were given visual signs, which are stopped when the Quran was revealed to Muhammad indicating it enough for them, which is being recited to them in response of the concern of the miracle raised by the wicked. But the challenge is called to produce a Quran like this or a part of it to support Muhammad, even all the humans and the Jinns being united together. This divine challenge is a miracle for Muhammad to support him and to those who believe with him while Quran is a treasure of knowledge and infinite wisdom, made impossible to incorporate in any fabrication even though it may be claimed that the equal literacy excellence is assigned producing something like it or its part.
In 1974, 19-based mathematical coding of the Quran was unveiled by the messenger of covenant by God’s leave while the mathematical facts derived from the Quran are confused with the sign (miracle) given to the messenger to be the miracles of the Quran or any other figure divisible by 19. While the careful review of the relevant verses of the Quran indicates that there is a clear difference between the message and the miracle(s) given to His chosen ones. The message is given as guidance and mercy while the miracle is given to support them so that people can believe them to be God chosen and follow the message sent with them being certain for their own good.
It is clear to many of us that Quran is a wondrous creation of God and we may reveal a new information as our guidance and mercy every time we study, examine and inquire into it to address concerns, questions, disputes for the people at all times until the end of the world. Since we live in the technologically advanced community and the Quran is being carefully studied and investigated
exposing wonders to have explicit proofs to be divine, and to find our right path avoiding all conjectures and guess works concentrating to the factual based on logical and mathematical analysis as well as scientific observations open the door for us to be successful in the Hereafter.

All prophets and messengers came before the revelation of the Quran were given visual signs, which are stopped when the Quran was revealed to Muhammad indicating it enough for them, which is being recited to them in response of the concern of the miracle raised by the wicked. But the challenge is called to produce a Quran like this or a part of it to support Muhammad, even all the humans and the Jinns being united together. This divine challenge is a miracle for Muhammad to support him and to those who believe with him while Quran is a treasure of knowledge and infinite wisdom, made impossible to incorporate in any fabrication even though it may be claimed that the equal literacy excellence is assigned producing something like it or its part.
In 1974, 19-based mathematical coding of the Quran was unveiled by the messenger of covenant by God’s leave while the mathematical facts derived from the Quran are confused with the sign (miracle) given to the messenger to be the miracles of the Quran or any other figure divisible by 19. While the careful review of the relevant verses of the Quran indicates that there is a clear difference between the message and the miracle(s) given to His chosen ones. The message is given as guidance and mercy while the miracle is given to support them so that people can believe them to be God chosen and follow the message sent with them being certain for their own good.
It is clear to many of us that Quran is a wondrous creation of God and we may reveal a new information as our guidance and mercy every time we study, examine and inquire into it to address concerns, questions, disputes for the people at all times until the end of the world. Since we live in the technologically advanced community and the Quran is being carefully studied and investigated
exposing wonders to have explicit proofs to be divine, and to find our right path avoiding all conjectures and guess works concentrating to the factual based on logical and mathematical analysis as well as scientific observations open the door for us to be successful in the Hereafter.
