Prophet/messenger being human can make mistakes either

Introduction

It has been derived and confirmed from the Quran that God has sent 20 prophets mentioned by their names while the Quran directly teaches that He has also sent unknown number of messengers to guide humanity to the right direction (4:164, 40:78). He has chosen them from His servants who are competent to deliver His message at different guidance periods according to His infinite wisdom while we are given limited knowledge not to make our concern about His wisdom in choosing His prophets and messengers. What should be our concern is to focus on the message to lead a righteous life but not on the person who is blessed to deliver the message (7:75). Hence, the message not the messenger is a mercy from Him for us but it is unfortunate that the Satan insists us focusing on them to make us idol worshipers while God has confirmed us in the Quran that idol worshiping nullifies our all works (4:48, 4:116):

[7:75] The leaders who had been arrogant among his people said to those who had been oppressed of whoever believed among them: “How do you know that Salih is sent one from his Lord?” They said: “Indeed, we are believers of what has been sent with him.”
Note: The messenger is chosen to deliver a specific message to a particular generation of people and the believers are to focus on the message to accept and follow it to do the righteous deeds.

[4:48] Indeed, God does not forgive if is associated partners with Him, and He forgives what is other than that for whomever He wills. And whoever associates partners with God, then indeed, he has fabricated a great sin.
[4:116] Indeed, God does not forgive if is associated partners with Him, and He forgives what is other than that for whomever He wills. And whoever associates partners with God, then certainly, he has strayed a far astray.
Note: Associating partners with God is idol worshiping, which is a great and unforgiveable sin if it is maintained until death (4:18).

However, what we know now that the prophet delivered his message, the Quran about more than 1400 years ago while the messenger delivered his message, the mathematical coding of Quran about more than 40 years ago in accordance with God’s will. Both the prophet and the messenger are no more among us but they are human being and made certain mistakes in the course of delivering their messages. God has shared with us the mistakes they made so that we may find a lesson in them to lead a righteous life as well as to have a proper concept of His prophet and messenger to avoid an impediment to worship Him alone.

The Prophet

Prophet Muhammad was a messenger prophet who delivered the final edition of God’s scripture (33:40). But he was a human being and it was not unusual for him to make mistakes even though many of us may hesitate to accept it or may be surprised of it. While God is truthful and He did not keep them hidden from us to be a lesson for us to stay in the right path. However, his mistakes or any attempts that were not befitting for him as a prophet mentioned in the Quran are reflected in its following verses:

[20:114] So is God has exalted High (fa-ta`aalaa allahu), the King, the True. And you (Muhammad) should not hasten with the Quran prior to that is completed its revelation to you, and say, “My Lord, increase my knowledge.”
Note: God has warned the prophet not to share anything with his contemporaries in advance when the Quran was being revealed to him piece by piece.

[22:52] And we have not sent down before yourself (Muhammad) any messenger nor a prophet except that when he recited, the Satan had cast in his recitation, while God abolishes what the Satan cast. Thus, God establishes His revelations, and God is Knower, Wise.
Note: This mistake is in reference to the incidence of the gharanic verses, which is also an indication that no messenger or prophet is infallible.

[33:37] And when you said to the one who was blessed by God and blessed by you (Muhammad): “Keep your wife and fear God,” and you hid inside yourself what God was to disclose. And you feared the people, while you were supposed to fear God. So when Zayd ended the relationship with his wife, we had you marry her that there is no restriction for the believers in (marrying) the wives of their adopted sons when they have ended the relationship among them. And God’s command shall be obeyed.
Note: When the prophet was commanded to marry the divorced wife of his adopted son to establish a religious rule that there is nothing wrong to marry the divorced wife of the adopted son but he hesitated to comply it.

[66:1] O prophet, why do you forbid what God has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And God is Forgiving, Merciful.
[66:3] And when the prophet had shared a statement to one of his wives, and when she informed of it and God made it apparent to him, he made known a part of it while he disregarded of a part. Then when he informed her of it, she said: “Who informed you this?” He said: “The Omniscient, the Most Cognizant has informed me.”
Note: The prophet forbade something which was lawful and shared the incomplete statement with his wives.

[69:44] And if he (Muhammad) had uttered about us any other utterances.
[69:45] Certainly, we would have caught him up by the right hand.
[69:46] Then we would have certainly cut off the main artery from him.
[69:47] Then no one from you would be protectors of him.
[69:48] And indeed, this is certainly a reminder (la-tadhkiratu) for the righteous.
Note: If the prophet had uttered anything other than what is being revealed to him from the Lord of the universe, he would have been severely punished and no one could prevent him from it, is a reminder for the righteous to pay attention. Here is also indication that hadiths are fabrications falsely assigned to him.

[75:16] You (prophet) should not move your tongue with it (Quran) that you may hasten with it.
[75:17] Indeed, upon us is its collection and its recitation.
[75:18] So when we recited it, then you shall follow its recitation.
[75:19] Then indeed, upon us is its explanation.
Note: God has warned the prophet not to explain the Quran to his contemporaries when the Quran was being revealed to him piece and piece as his only duty was to recite to them what was being revealed to him while explanation as needed to be included in the subsequent revelations.

[80:1] He (Muhammad) frowned and turned away.
[80:2] That the blind man came to him.
[80:3] And what could make you know that he would purify himself?
[80:4] Or he could remind that the reminder would benefit him.
[80:5] As for him who had been rich.
[80:6] So you give attention for him.
[80:7] And it was not on you that he would not purify himself.
[80:8] And as for him who came to you is to strive.
[80:9] And he fears.
[80:10] While you turned away from him.
[80:11] Nay, indeed, it is a reminder (tadhkiratu).
[80:12] So whoever wills, he may pay attention to it (dhakarahu).
Note: Here is the full story of a blind man and a self sufficient man, the prophet treated them differently, which may serve as a reminder for those who will pay attention to it.

Mathematical confirmation

There are 26 verses in 7 suras in the Quran stating the mistakes made by the prophet or what were not befitting for him. If the relevant and verse numbers are added, the sum is a multiple of 19 => 950 = 19x50 (see details in the table below):

Mathematical confirmationNote: This mathematical confirmation is an explicit proof of exposing the mistakes made by His prophet to be a lesson for us not to idolize him.

It is also noteworthy that prophet Muhammad was an idol worshiper before he was chosen to deliver the final edition of God’s scripture and was commanded to submit to God as well as was forbidden from worshiping those which he used to call besides God not to nullify his works, is an important lesson for us:

[6:56] Say, “Indeed, I have been forbidden that I worship those whom you call other than God.” Say, “I do not follow your desire, certainly, I have gone astray then, and I am not with the guided ones.”
[40:66] Say: “Indeed, I (Muhammad) have been forbidden to worship those whom you call other than God, when has come to me the clear proofs from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to Lord of the worlds.”

[6:106] You shall follow what has been inspired to you (Muhammad) from your Lord: there is no god except He, and shall turn away from the idol worshipers.
[39:65] And certainly, has been inspired to you (Muhammad) and to those before yourself if you have associated partners, surely, He will make worthless your deeds, and surely, you will be with the losers.
Note: We may reflect to the fact that prophet Muhammad without the Quran was an idol worshiper and he cannot be mercy for a people except the message, i.e., the Quran revealed to him.

The messenger

The messenger of God delivered the mathematical coding of Quran upon fulfillment of the prophecies and promises found in the Quran (3:81 and 33:7, and 15:9, 27:82 and 74:30) when the punishment is almost due because of the corruption of God’s religion beyond imagination (27:82). The message given to him is very precise in the Quran (74:30-37) supported by a great sign, the number 19 (74:30 & 35) as his messengership. However, if anyone who has the opportunity to carefully and thoroughly review his works may find that he had made many mistakes while his mistakes mentioned in the Quran are reflected in the following verses of the sura 74 (al-Muddaththir – The Hidden one) even though many of new generation Muslims who advocate him to be a messenger of God may hesitate to accept it or may feel uncomfortable as well:

[74:1] O you the hidden one.
[74:2] Appear that you shall warn warn.
[74:3] And your Lord that you shall glorify.
[74:4] And your garments that you shall purify.
[74:5] And the uncleanliness that you shall remove (extraneous)
[74:6] And you do not expect to have more.
Note: There is a hint in the above verses to remove what is wrong in the Quran, even our beliefs and practices in order to purify to uphold the purified message and to commemorate God through perfect practices given by Him. It also appears from the verses that God has been aware of the distortion of Quran to be made down its transmission and has promised to preserve it (15:9).

[74:11] Leave Me, and whom I have created as individual.
[74:12] And I have given him abundant wealth.
[74:13] And children as witnesses.
[74:14] And I have made easy for him.
[74:15] Then he expects that I should give him more.
[74:16] No, indeed, he has been stubborn to our signs.
[74:17] I will punish him.
[74:18] Indeed, he has thought and has planned.
[74:19] That he has been cursed how he has planned.
[74:20] Then he has been cursed how he has planned.
[74:21] Then he has looked.
[74:22] Then he has frowned and has scowled.
[74:23] Then he has turned back and has been arrogant.
[74:24] Then he said, “This is not except it is imitated magic!
[74:25] This is not except a word of the human.”
[74:26] I will cast him into Saqar.
[74:27] And what has made you know what Saqar is!
[74:28] It does not let to stay nor does it let to leave.
[74:29] It is obvious to the human.
Note: Here are the specific details about the messenger destined to unveil the concept of mathematical coding of the Quran including his accomplishments and intellectual punishment for making mistakes referring to Saqar, which will stay with him even when he will not be among us.

Mathematical confirmation

There are 25 verses in a single sura (sura 74: The Hidden one) describing the messenger along with his accomplishments and mistakes made by him. If the relevant sura and verse numbers are added, the sum is a multiple of 19 => 475 = 19x25 (see details in the table below):

Mathematical confirmation

Note: This mathematical confirmation is an explicit proof of exposing the mistakes made by His messenger as well to be a lesson for us not to idolize him. However, he is an observant of religion passed on through his parents or society except the mathematical coding of Quran revealed to him.

Distinction between God’s prophet-messenger

God has sent down His messages from time to time through His chosen ones to guide humanity to the right direction but it became diverted by their love, adoration and fanatic enthusiasm on behalf of a human factor. It is allegiance and devotion to dead, powerless and helpless human factors that causes division, hatred and even wars making a distinction between them. Since such allegiance represents disobedience of God when He has given us clear instructions to concentrate to our true love and our true objective is our Creator are reflected in the following verses of the Quran:

[2:136] Say: “We believe in God and in what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make a distinction between any of them and to Him we are submitters.”
[2:285] The messenger believes in what was sent down to him from his Lord. And the believers, all who believe in God, and His angles, and His scriptures, and His messengers; we do not make a distinction between any of His messengers; and they said: “We hear and obey, forgive us our Lord, and to you is our destiny.”
[3:84] Say: “We believe in God and what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Patriarchs, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We do not make any distinction between them, and to Him we are submitters.”
[3:194] “Our Lord, grant us what You have promised us through Your messengers (the messages), and do not forsake us on the Day of Resurrection. You never break a promise.”
[4:152] And those who have believed in God and His messengers and they do not make a distinction between any of them, we will give them their rewards. And God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Note: Here is the commandment of not to make a distinction between any of God’s prophets and messengers is very straightforward.

[7:144] He said, “O Moses, I have chosen you, over all the people, with My messages and by speaking to you. Therefore, take what I have given you and be appreciative.”

[17:55] Your Lord is the best knower of everyone in the heavens and the earth. In accordance with this knowledge, we preferred some prophets over others. And we gave David the Psalms.
Note: Here is an indication of preference that may confuse us that there is a distinction between His messengers but the commandment for us is to focus on the messages not the persons who are chosen to deliver the message.

Mathematical confirmation

There are 7 verses across 5 suras consisting of 2 sets of verses stating that there is no distinction between any of God’s prophets and messengers, and we must focus on the message given to them. If the relevant sura and verse numbers are added, the sum is a multiple of 19 => 475 = 19×57 (see details in the table below):

Mathematical confirmation Note: This mathematical confirmation is an explicit proof of the commandment of God that there is no distinction between any of His prophet-messenger to eliminate any doubt from our hearts about it. This also confirms that we must focus on the message given to them but if we focus on them, we will make us idol worshipers.

Conclusion

The study covers 3 contexts: (1) mistakes made by the prophet, (2) mistakes made by God’s messenger of the covenant and (3) the commandment of God not to make a distinction between any of His messengers. God has sent both prophets and messengers to guide humanity defining that prophets are given scripture while messengers are commissioned with other messages (2:213 and 3:81). Hence, prophets and messengers are chosen to deliver a specific message to a particular generation of people who are human being, and mistakes made by them is not unusual rather protect us from committing gross sin idolizing them.

The mistakes made by the prophet who delivered the Quran are: (1) not to share anything with his contemporaries in advance, (2) mistake in reference to the incidence of gharanic verses, (3) hesitated when commanded to marry the divorced wife of his adopted son, (4) forbade what was lawful to please his wives, (5) shared an incomplete statement with his wives, (6) he would be punished if he uttered other than what was revealed to him, (7) not to explain Quran to his contemporaries and (8) treated the blind man differently from the able man who came to him. While the mistakes made by the messenger who unveiled the concept of mathematical coding of Quran providing basic proofs from the Quran are actually the reflection of the errors and inconsistencies found in his works and statements: (1) not to be greedy, (2) he should not expect more than what was given to him, (3) to be stubborn to divine signs, (4) to impose intellectual punishment on him referring to Saqar, which will stay with him even when he will not be among the people.

The prophet/messenger is chosen to deliver a specific message (reminder) to a particular generation of people and any mistakes made by any messenger do not disqualify him to be a messenger of God as the messenger is a simple minded human being, and this is the case that continues from the past. It is a great regret that in most cases the human factors occupy the central part in God’s religion instead of His message that has divided His religion as well as made many of us idol worshipers. The root cause is the violation of God’s commandment not to make a distinction between His prophets and messengers while He wants us all to focus on the messages not the persons who are chosen to deliver the messages. But it is a human tragedy that most people idolize their prophets, messengers, even saints, religious scholars and imams not realizing that idolizing is the satanic trick to make most of us losers in the Hereafter as he has promised with God (17:62).

The review from the related contexts along with the mathematical confirmations from the relevant verses and suras educates us to get rid of all impediments of the traditional concept around prophets and messengers leaving no residues in our hearts that they cannot make mistakes, they can help or benefit us as they are close to God, they have some sort of authority over the people to whom they are sent for or they are heavenly persona. We must understand that God’s chosen sent with a very specific message to deliver to a particular generation of people, even a concept we have witnessed, are human being with limited knowledge (20:114). Hence, we must focus on the message sent with them and support them to spread divine message at their lifetime and follow it when they are not among us without idolizing them while there is a good news for all of us from God that prophets, messengers and the righteous are the best community to get the best reward from Him (4:69):
[4:69] And whoever obeys God and the messenger (the Gabriel or the message), then those are with those whom God has bestowed favor upon them of the prophets and the truthful and the martyrs and the righteous, and those are the best companion.
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
Tafazzal (3/30/2018).
