How studying Quran gives us better insight into our faith

The Quran is a timeless guide for how we live and understand the world. While it contains vast wisdom, we do not need to master everything all at once to find meaning. In fact, taking the time to slow down and truly reflect on even a few specific verses can completely change our perspective. By looking closely at just a handful of passages, we gain a clearer, deeper insight into the heart of our religion — offering vital clarity not just for us today, but for generations to come:

[2:1] [I swear by] Alif.Laam.Meem.
[2:2] That is the scripture in which there is no doubt – a guidance for the righteous.

[2:185] Ramadan is the month in which the Quran has been sent down as guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of guidance, and the statute book. So, whoever has witnessed the month from you, then he shall fast in it and whoever has been sick or on a journey, then a specified number from other days. God does intend the ease for you and He does not intend the hardship for you, and that you may complete the specified number; and that you may glorify God through which He has guided you, and that you may appreciate.

[5:99] Upon the messenger is only the conveyance; and God knows what you reveal and what you conceal.

[6:70] And leave those who have taken their religion as play and amusement, and whom the life of the world has deceived. And remind with it, lest a soul be destroyed for what it has earned. It has no protector other than God, nor any intercessor. And if it offers every ransom, it will not be taken from it. Those are the ones who are destroyed for what they earned. For them is a drink of boiling water and a painful punishment for what they have been disbelieving.

[6:114] Is it then other than God I should seek as a judge, while He is the One Who has sent down the scripture to you as a detailed one? And those to whom We have given the scripture know that it is a sent-down from your Lord with truth. So, do not be among the doubters.

[6:125] So, whomever God wills to guide, He expands his breast to submission; and whomever He wills to leave astray, He makes his breast tight, constricted—as if he were climbing into the sky. Thus, God places defilement upon those who do not believe.
[6:126] And this is the straight path of your Lord. Certainly, We have detailed the revelations for a people who take heed.

[17:45] And when you have recited the Quran, We have placed a hidden barrier between your midst and those who do not believe in the Hereafter.
[17:46] And We have placed coverings over their hearts lest they understand it, and into their ears a deafness. And when you have mentioned your Lord in the Quran alone, they have turned upon their backs in aversion.

[17:78] [O Prophet], establish the salat prayer at the afternoon inclination of the sun until the onset of darkness, and the recitation of Quran at the dawn; indeed, the recitation of Quran at the dawn has been witnessed.
[17:79] And from a portion of the night — meditate with it as an extra for you; it has been expected that your Lord will raise you to a praised position.

[20:1] [I swear by] Taa Haa.
[20:2] We had not sent down the Qur’an to you that you distress,
[20:3] except a reminder for whoever fears.
[20:4] A revelation from Him Who has created the earth and the high heavens.

[20:14] Indeed, I am God; there is no god except I. So [O Moses], worship Me and establish the salat prayer for the remembering of Me.
[20:15] Indeed, the Hour is coming — I almost hide it — so that each soul may be recompensed for what it has striven.
[20:16] So let not avert you from it whoever does not believe in it and has followed his desire, so you perish.

[20:130] So [O Prophet], be patient over what they say, and glorify with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and from the hours of the night — so glorify, and the two ends of the day, so that you may be well-pleased.

[30:30] So [O Prophet], establish yourself for the religion of monotheism — the instinct of God upon which He has created mankind. There is no change for the creation of God. That is the established religion, but most of mankind do not know.
[30:31] Being turned to Him, and fear Him and establish the salat prayer, and do not be among the idol worshipers.

[33:1] O you the prophet, become righteous to God, and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites. Indeed, God has been Knower, Wise.
[33:2] And follow what is being revealed to you from your Lord. Indeed, God has been Cognizant of what you are doing.

[33:40] Muhammad has not been the father of any of your men, but has been the messenger of God and the seal of the prophets. And God has been Knower of everything.

[33:45] O you the prophet; indeed, we have sent you a witness, and a bearer of good news, and a warner,
[33:46] and a caller to God by His permission, and an illuminating light.

[33:56] Indeed, God and His angels help the prophet. O you who have believed, help him, and greet him with a perfect greeting.

[39:23] God has sent down the best Hadith: a scripture consistent to each other. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften to God’s message. That is God’s guidance; He guides with it whomever He wills. And whomever God lets go astray, then there is no guide for him.

[40:1] [I swear by] Haa. Meem.
[40:2] A revelation of the scripture is from God – the Almighty, the Knower.
[40:3] Forgiver of the sin, Acceptor of the repentance, Severe in the punishment, Possessor of the abundance. There is no god except He. To Him is the final return.

[40:66] Say, “Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those whom you call upon other than God, when the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.”

[42:1] [I swear by] Haa. Meem.
[42:2] Ayn. Seen. Qaaf.
[42:3] Thus He reveals to you [O Prophet], and to those from before you is God – the Almighty, the Wise.
[42:4] To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the High, the Great.

[42:7] And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Quran so that you may warn the Mother of cities and whoever is around it, and you may warn of the Day of Gathering — there is no doubt in it. A party in the Paradise, and a party in the blazing Fire.

[42:51] And it has not been for a human being that God should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a barrier, or He sends a messenger so he reveals by His permission what He wills. Indeed, He is High, Wise.
[42:52] And thus We have inspired to you [O Prophet] an inspiration by Our command. You did not know what the scripture was, nor the faith. But We have made it (Quran) a light; We guide with it whomever We will of Our servants. And indeed, you surely guide to a straight path.

[43:1] [I swear by] Haa.Meem,
[43:2] and the clarifying scripture.
[43:3] Indeed, we have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand.
[43:4] And indeed, it is in the Mother scripture with Us, surely high, wise.

[44:1] [I swear by] Haa. Meem,
[44:2] and the clarifying scripture.
[44:3] Indeed, we have sent down it on the blessed night, indeed, we have ever been warners. [44:4] On it, every wise matter is made distinct.

[44:10] So you shall watch for a day the sky will bring of a profound smoke,
[44:11] enveloping the people — this will be a painful punishment.
[44:12] “Our Lord, remove the punishment from us – indeed, we will be believers.”
[44:13] How will they have the reminder—when certainly, a clarifying messenger had come to them?
[44:14] Then, they had turned away from him and said, “An educated madman!”
[44:15] Indeed, we are relievers of the punishment for a while; indeed, you are returning.
[44:16] The Day we will strike the greatest strike — indeed, we are avengers.

[54:1] The Hour has approached and the moon has split.
[54:2] Even if they see a sign, they turn away and say: “A continuing magic.”

[54:17] And certainly, we have made the Quran straightforward for the reminder, so is there anyone who takes heed?

[56:77] Indeed, it is surely an honorable Quran.
[56:78] In a protected scripture.
[56:79] None can grasp it except the sincere.
[56:80] A revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

[97:1] Indeed, we have sent down it (Quran) on the Night of Power.
[97:2] And what has made you know what the Night of Power is?
[97:3] The Night of Power — it is better than a thousand months.
[97:4] The angels and the Spirit descend on it by permission of their Lord with every command.
[97:5] Peace – it is until the advent of the dawn.

Ultimately, true insight into our religion begins with recognizing the divine origin and sacred purpose of the Quran. Sent down in the month of Ramadan on a blessed night known as the Night of Power, this scripture descended from the Mother Scripture with God, serving as the ultimate criterion that makes distinct every wise matter. As the best of Hadith, it stands as a perfect guidance for the righteous. Yet, its truth remains hidden behind spiritual coverings for those who do not believe in the Hereafter. It is only the sincere hearts that can truly grasp this honorable Quran and recognize it for what it truly is: a messenger of God, the final scripture, a witness, a bearer of good news, a warner, a caller to God, and an illuminating light—containing within its depths the foundational hints that even the Hour is predictable, though it remains unknown to most Muslims, including their leaders and scholars.

The fundamental blueprint of our faith is anchored in the direct, specific commandments given to the Prophet himself. God commanded the Prophet to firmly establish himself in the pure religion of monotheism—the natural instinct upon which God created all of humankind—and to stay completely away from the idol worshipers. As a core part of his duty, he was specifically commanded to establish the Salat prayers at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and night, alongside the recitation of the Quran at dawn and dedicated meditation with it during a portion of the night. Through these explicit divine mandates, he fulfilled his charge to warn the Mother of Cities and everyone around it, while the Arabic Quran warns that on the Day of Resurrection — there is no doubt in it — a party will be in the Paradise and a party will be in the blazing Fire.

In the end, guidance belongs solely to God, who extends the breast of whomever He wills into total submission. Upon the messenger is only the clear conveyance, while God perfectly knows what we reveal and what we conceal. Because of this, God has explicitly warned the coming generation of the punishment of profound smoke for disregarding the reminder delivered by the clarifying messenger, whom they dismiss as an educated madman. By looking closely at these precise boundaries, both present and future generations can protect the true essence of their faith.
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
