Introduction
There are 44 instances of yassara and its derived forms in the Quran, and these instances can broadly be classified into 3 grammatical groups: (1) verb, (2) noun and (3) passive participle as shown in the table below, and we may review them focusing that God has made the Quran easy for the righteous that they can fulfill their obligations to Him keeping in mind that the Arabic word may have different meanings in the different contexts:

Instances of yassara
There are 11 instances of yassara in the verb form II meaning “to make easy” found in the Quran in 11 verses across 7 suras are described below:
[19:97] So indeed, we have made it (Quran) easy in your (Muhammad) tongue (fa-innamaa yassarnaahu bi-lisanika) that you may give good news to the righteous with it (Quran) and may warn a hostile people with it (Quran).

There are 2 instances of tayassara in the verb form V meaning “to be easy” found in the verse, 73:20 is described below:
[73:20] Indeed, your Lord knows that you (Muhammad) can stay awake a little less than two-third of the night, and its half, and its one-third, and so do a group of those who have been with yourself. And God determines the night and the day. He has known that you cannot adhere to it, so He has turned to you. So you shall read what has been easy of the Quran (fa-iq’rauu maa tayassara mina al-qur’aani). He has known that there will be sick among you, and others will travel in the land seeking for God’s bounty, and others will fight in God’s path. So you shall read what has been easy of it (fa-iq’rauu maa tayassara min’hu), and shall observe the Contact Prayer and shall give the Obligatory Charity and shall loan God a best loan. And whatever of good you send forth for yourselves, you will find it with God, it is a better and a greater reward. And you shall seek God’s forgiveness, indeed, God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Instances of is’taysara
There are 2 instances of is’taysara in the verb form X meaning “to get with ease” found in the verse, 2:196 is described below:
[2:196] And you shall complete the Hajj and the Umrah for God. But if you have been prevented, then (offer from) whatever has obtained with ease of the animal to sacrifice (fa-man is’taysara mina al-hadyi), and you do not shave your heads until the animal to sacrifice reaches its destination. But whoever has been ill among you or with him there is an ailment of his head, then ransom by fasting or charity or practice. Then when you have been secure, then whoever has taken of the Umrah to the Hajj, then (offer from) whatever has obtained with ease of the animal to sacrifice (fa-man is’taysara mina al-hadyi). But whoever cannot find, then fasting for three days during the Hajj and seven when you have returned. That is ten in all; that is for him whoever of his family does not be nearby the Sacred Masjid. And you shall fear God, and shall know that God is severe in the retribution.

There are 3 instances of maysir in the noun form meaning “gambling” found in 3 verses across 2 suras are described below:
[2:219] They ask you (Muhammad) about the intoxicants and the gambling (yasalnuunaka `ani al-khamri wal-maysir). Say: “In them there is great sin; while there is benefit for the people but their sin is greater than their benefit.” And they ask you (Muhammad) what they should spend. Say: “The excess.” Thus that God makes clear the revelations for you that you may explore.
[5:90] O you who have believed; indeed, the intoxicants, and the gambling, and (sacrificing at) the altars, and (seeking fortune through) the arrows are abomination (innamaa al-khamru, wal-maysuru wal-ansaabu wal-azlaamu rijsun) being from the Satan’s deed. So you shall avoid him that you may succeed.
[5:91] The Satan only intends that he causes between you the enmity and the hatred through the intoxicants and the gambling (yuuqi`a baynakumu al-`adaawata wal-baghdaa-a fee al-khamri wal-maysiri), and prevents you from remembering God and from the Contact Prayer. So will you be the refrainers?
Instances of maysarat
There is 1 instance of maysarat in the noun form meaning “ease” found in the verse, 2:280 is described below:
[2:280] And if a debtor has been in difficulty, then postponement until ease (fa-naziratun ilaa maysaratin). And if you remit as a charity, it is better for you if you have been to know.

[2:185] Ramadan which is a month, has been revealed in it the Quran as a guidance for the human, clear proofs of the guidance and the statute book. So whoever among you has witnessed the month, then he should fast in it, and whoever has been ill or on a journey then the prescribed number from other days. God wishes ease for you (yureedu allahu bi-kumu al-yus’ra) and He does not wish hardship for you, and that you may complete the prescribed number, and that you may glorify God through which He has guided you, and that you may appreciate.
[18:88] And as for whoever has believed and has done as righteous, then for him is a good reward; and we will speak to him with ease of our command (wa-sa-naquulu lahu min amrinaa yus’ran).
[51:3] By those (ships) that make sailing ease (fal-jaariyaati yus’ran).
[65:4] And those who among your women have despaired of the menstruation; if you have doubted, then their waiting period is three months, while those who do not menstruate and those are pregnant, their term until they deliver their burden. And whoever fears God, He makes ease for him of his affair (wa-man yattaqi allaha yaj’`al lahu amrihi yus’ran).
[65:7] Let him spend being possessor of abundance from his abundance and whoever has been restricted on him of his provision, then let him spend from what God has given him. God does not burden any soul except what He has given it. God will bring about ease after hardship (sa-yaj’`alu allahu ba`da `us’rin yus’ran).
[94:6] So, indeed, with the hardship there is ease (fa-inna ma`a al-`us’ri yus’ran).

[22:70] Do you not know that God knows what is in the heaven and the earth? Indeed, that is in a record; indeed, that is easy for God (inna dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseerun).
[25:46] Then we have withdrawn it to us an easy withdrawal (thumma qabadnaahu ilaynaa qabdan yaseerun).
[29:19] Do they not see how God initiates the creation, then He repeats it? Indeed, that is easy for God (inna dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseerun).
[33:19] They are miserly towards you. But when the fear comes, you see them looking at you rolling their eyes like one who faints from the death approaching on him. But when the fear has gone, they whip you with sharp tongues being miserly towards the good. Those – they do not believe, so God has made worthless their deeds, and that has been easy for God (wa-kaana dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseeran).
[33:30] O wives of the prophet, whoever from you commits evident lewdness, the two-fold punishment will be doubled for her, and that has been easy for God (wa-kaana dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseeran).
[35:11] And God has created you from dust, then from a tiny drop, as He has made you pairs. And no female conceives nor does give birth except of His knowledge. No person’s life is extended, nor is shortened from his life except as in a record. Indeed, that is easy for God (inna dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseerun).
[50:44] A day the earth will crack, from them hastening forth. That gathering is easy for us (dhaalika hashrun `alaynaa yaseerun).
[57:22] No disaster has befallen in the earth nor among yourselves except in a record before that we bring it about. Indeed, that is easy for God. (inna dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseerun).
[84:8] Then he will be reckoned an easy reckoning (fa-sawfa yuhaasabu hisaaban yaseeran).
Noun
[4:30] And whoever does that animosity and wickedness, then we will cast him to a Fire; and it has been that for God is easy (wa-kaana dhaalika `alaa allahi yaseeran).

[74:10] For the disbelievers will not be easy (`alaa al-kaafireena ghayra yaseerin).
Instance of maysuur
There is 1 instance of maysuur in the passive participle form meaning “gentle” found in the verse, 17:28 is described below:
[17:28] And if you turn away from them seeking mercy from your Lord which you desire, then say to them a gentle word (fa-qul lahum qawlan maysuuran).
Summary
- God has made the Quran easy in prophet’s language that he can give good news to the righteous with it and can warn the disbelieving people with it.

- God has given the Quran in the month of Ramadan as a guidance of mankind and has decreed fasting in the month to appreciate Him for guiding them while he has given other options as He wishes ease for us to complete the prescribed number.
- He will speak with ease to those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds.
- He makes ease for him of his affair whoever fears Him, and He brings about ease after hardship.
- He has recorded what is in the heaven and what is in the earth, and that is easy for Him.
- He initiates the creation and repeats it, that is easy for Him.
- Whoever from prophet’s wives commits evident lewdness, the two-fold punishment will be doubled for her, and that is easy for God.
- No person’s life is extended nor is shortened from his life except as in record, that is easy for God.
- A day the earth will crack, from them there will be hastening for gathering, and that is easy for God.
- No disaster has befallen in the earth nor among ourselves except in a record before that has been brought about, and that is easy for God.
- Whoever does animosity and wickedness, will be cast into a Fire, and that is easy for God.
- If the enemy party had entered upon them from all sides and had asked them the treachery, they would have done it not being hesitated over it but being easy.
- Those who have disbelieved claimed that they will not be brought back should know that God will surely bring them back, and that is easy for Him.
- When the trumpet will be brown that day will be a difficult and will not be easy for the disbelievers.
- God had advised the prophet to speak a gentle word to those from whom he turned away seeking mercy from his Lord what he would expect.
