God’s guidance ensures our back to a right place of return

Introduction

God has coded in the Quran that God’s guidance is the true guidance (2:120 and 6:71), which has also been coded in the other way that the true guidance is God’s guidance (3:73). He sends down His guidance for us to follow as promised (2:38 and 20:123) and guides those to a straight path who believe in His guidance (22:54). He increases the guidance of those who are guided (19:76) while He is aware of those who are the guided ones as well (28:56). When both Adam and his wife transgressed in Heaven, were granted them the last chance on earth along with all of their descendants to be redeemed and asked them to wait for His guidance to come and follow it not to go astray (2:38-39, 20:123-127).

Review on instances of al-hudaa and hudaaallahi

The verses below having the instances of al-hudaa and hudaaallahi (hudallahi in recitation) along with the related commandments are thoroughly reviewed to have a clear understanding of God’s guidance as well as the consequences of those who are not the guided ones:

[2:16] These are the ones who have purchased the straying with the guidance (bil-hudaa); so their trade did not profit, nor were they the guided ones.

[2:38] We said, “Go down from here, all of you. When guidance (hudan) comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance (hudaaya), then they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

[2:39] And those who disbelieve and reject our revelations (biaayaatinaa), they will be dwellers of Hell, wherein they abide forever.”

[2:120] Neither the Jews, nor the Christians, will accept you, unless you follow their religion. Say, “God’s guidance is the true guidance (inna hudaa allahi huwa al-hudaa)” And if you follow their wishes after the knowledge that has come to you, there is neither a protector nor a helper for you against God.

[2:175] These are the ones who have purchased the straying with the guidance (bil-hudaa) and the punishment with the forgiveness; then what for them is endurance on the Fire.

[2:185] Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed as guidance (hudan) for the people, the clear guidance (wa-bayyinaatin mina al-hudaa) and the statute book. So whoever among you witnesses the month, then he should fast in it, and whoever is ill or on a journey then the prescribed number from other days. God wishes ease for you, and He does not wish hardship for you that you may complete the number, and that you may glorify God for guiding you so that you may be grateful.

[3:73] “And do not believe but anyone who follows your religion.” Say, “The true guidance is God’s guidance” (inna al-hudaa hudaa allahi) is that one is given the similar to what was given to you or they may argue with you about your Lord.” Say, “The bounty is surely, in God’s hand; He gives it to whomever He wills, and God is Bounteous, Omniscient.”

[4:115] And whoever opposes the messenger after the guidance (al-hudaa) what has become clear to him, and he follows other than the path of the believers; we will turn him to what he has turned and will burn him in Hell, and it is an evil destination.

[6:35] And if their aversion has become too much for you, then perhaps you could make a tunnel in the earth, or a ladder intothe sky, and bring them a sign. Had God willed, He would have gathered them on the guidance (‘alaa al-hudaa); so do not be of the ignorant ones.

[6:71] Say: “Shall we call on other than God what cannot benefit us or harm us, and we turn back on our heels after God has guided us?” Like the one whom the devils have enticed in the earth, is confused, he has friends who call him to the guidance: “Come to us!” Say, “God’s guidance is the true guidance (inna hudaa allahi huwa al-hudaa). We are commanded to submit to the Lord of the universe.”

[6:88] Such is God’s guidance (hudaa allahi), He guides with it whomever He wills of His servants. And if they had associated partners, then what they used to do would have been nullified.

[7:193] And if you invite them to the guidance (ilaa al-hudaa), they will not follow you. It is the same for you whether you invite them or you remain silent.

[7:198] And if you invite them to the guidance (ilaa al-hudaa), they do not listen. And you see them looking at you, but they do not see.
Note: When anyone of us invites to the guidance, most people do not follow or listen to it.

[9:33] He is the One who sent His messenger with the guidance (bil-hudaa) and the true religion to prevail it over any other religion, even though the idol worshipers dislike (it).

[17:94] And what prevented the people from believing when the guidance (al-hudaa) came to them, except that they said: “Has God sent a human messenger?”

[18:55] And what prevented the people from believing when the guidance (al-huda came to them, and from asking the forgiveness of their Lord, except that the way of the earlier generations, or the retribution that came to them before?

[18:57] And who is more wicked than the one who is reminded with his Lord’s revelations but he turns away from them, forgetting what he has with him. Indeed, we have placed veils on their hearts lest they understand it and deafness in their ears, and if you invite them to the guidance (ilaa al-hudaa), they will never ever be guided.

[19:76] And God increases guidance (hudan) of those who accept (it), and the everlasting good works are better with your Lord for reward and far better return.

Note: Our good works contributes to the gradual growth of our souls.

[20:47] So, go to him (Pharaoh) and say, “We (Moses and Aaron) are two messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us. You must refrain from persecuting them. We bring a sign from your Lord, and peace be upon those who follow the guidance (al-hudaa).”

[20:123] He said, “Go down from here, all of you, as enemy of one another. But when guidance (hudan) comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance (hudaaya), then he will not go astray, nor will he suffer.

[20:124] “But whoever turns away from My remembrance (dhik’ree), then he will have a straitened life, and we will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection.”

[20:125] He will say, “My Lord, why have You raised me blind while I had sight?”

[20:126] He will say, “It is such that you forgot our revelations when they came to you, and today, you are forgotten.”

[20:127] We, thus requite anyone who transgresses and does not believe in the revelations of their Lord. The retribution in the Hereafter is far worse and everlasting.

Note: Those who follow God’s guidance will be rewarded while those who turn away from His guidance will be punished, and this is the system that we inherit as children of Adam and that if we do not follow His guidance, we will go astray, and the worse and the everlasting punishment in the Hereafter have been confirmed.

[22:54]And that those who have been given the knowledge will know that it is the truth from your Lord, then they will believe in it, then their hearts will humbly soften to it. And indeed, God guides those who believe to a straight path (wa-inna allaha lahaadi alladheena aamanoo ilaa siratin mus’taqeem).

Note: We must soften our hearts to accept the truth by removing the hardening in our hearts and take initiatives to make our life happier when we meet Him.

[28:37] And Moses said: “My Lord is aware of who has come with the guidance (bil-hudaa) from Him, and who will have the best end in the Hereafter. Of course, the wicked will not be successful.”

[28:56] You cannot guide (tahdee) whomever you love. But God guides (yahdee) whomever He wills, as well as He is aware of the guided ones.

Note: Though it comes in reference to the prophet but it is also applicable to anyone of us who may advocate truth while its acceptance or rejection depends on God as He knows what is in everybody’s heart and who deserve guidance.

[28:57] And they said: “If we follow the guidance (al-hudaa) with you, we will be removed from our land.” Have we not established for them a secure sanctuary, to which all kinds of fruits are provided, as a provision from us? Indeed, most of them do not know.

[28:85] Surely, the One who decreed the Quran for you will surely bring you back to a place of return. Say: “My Lord is aware of who has come with the guidance (bil-hudaa), and who is totally in the astray.”

[34:32] Those who were arrogant will say to those who were followers: “Did we turn you away from the guidance(‘ani al-hudaa) after it had come to you? No, you were criminals.”

Note: The arrogant and their followers on earth will blame each other on the Day of Judgment.

[40:53] And certainly, we gave Moses the guidance (al-hudaa), and we made the Children of Israel to inherit the scripture.

[41:17] And as for Thamud, we guided them but they preferred the blindness over the guidance (alaa al-hudaa). So, the thunderbolt overtook them as a humiliating punishment, because of what they used to earn.

Note: Thamud preferred blindness over the guidance to be annihilated by the thunderbolt.

[47:25] Surely, those who turned on their backs, after what has been made clear to themof the guidance (al-hudaa), the devil has enticed them and led them on.

[47:32] Those who disbelieve and turn away from the path of God, and oppose the messenger after what has been made clear to themof the guidance (al-hudaa), they will not harm God in the least, and He will nullify their works.

[48:28] He is the One who sent His messenger with the guidance (bil-hudaa) and the true religion to make it prevail over all other religions. And God is sufficient as a witness.

[53:23] These are but names you have named them, you and your forefathers. God has not sent down any authority with them. They do not follow except the conjecture and the personal desire. And certainly, the guidance (al-hudaa) has come to them from their Lord.

[61:9] He is the One who sent His messenger with the guidance (bil-hudaa) and the true religion to make it prevail over all other religions, even though the idol worshipers dislike (it).

[72:13] “And when we (jinns) heard the guidance (al-hudaa), we believed in it. So, whoever believes in his Lord, then he will never fear any loss nor any burden.”

[92:12] It is upon us to give the guidance (la’al-hudaa).

[96:11] Have you seen if he is on the guidance (‘alaa al-hudaa)?

Mathematical confirmation

The details of God’s guidance and the consequences of not to be among the guided ones are found in 41 verses across 24 suras. Even this set of verses in the Quran can be mathematically confirmed if the relevant sura and verse numbers are added, the total is a multiple of 19 => 4028 (19x212) as shown in the table below:

img52

Note: Both instnances of al-hudaa and hudaaallahi in the same verses that participate in the mathematical calculation are highlighted orange in the table while the green highlighted ones are in the verb form of al-hudan. The yellow highlighted verses indicate the consequences of those who are not among the guided ones.

Conclusion

God’s guidance is the true guidance and the consequences of those who are not the guided ones found in 41 verses across 24 suras isolating a set of related verses from the Quran supported by the mathematical confirmation. He has sent down the guidance and the true religion while He knows what is in the people’s hearts and who deserve His guidance. He guides the believers to a straight path what has been even mentioned referring to when He sent Adam and his wife down to earth on the event of their transgression in Heaven to give them another chance but on earth. Afterwards, He has sent the messenger with the guidance and the true religion to make it prevail over all other religions. Thus, those who follow His guidance and strive in the cause of Him according to His religion will be rewarded, and this is the system that we inherit as the children of Adam from past.

Those who turn away from His guidance or do not follow His religion go astray. What they have done is purchase straying with the guidance and punishment with the forgiveness. They disbelieve and oppose the messenger after the guidance has been made clear to them and turn away from the path of God. This does not harm God but He will nullify their works as the devil has enticed them and led them on.They are not guided and their consequence is endurance on the Fire.

Since those who do not follow His guidance will go astray, the worse and the everlasting punishment for them have been confirmed in the Hereafter. They will be resurrected blind but they used to see while on earth and will be the dwellers of Hell, wherein they abide forever. The arrogant and their followers on earth will blame each other on the Day of Judgment for their turning away from the guidance when they see their miserable consequences.

God is aware of who has come with the guidance and who is totally in the astray. He has decreed the Quran for the people to bring them back to a right place of return while he has given it as a guidance mentioned 19 times in it, the clear proofs of the guidance and the statute book to be appreciative to Him as He has created us and He wants us to be appreciative to Him for our own sake. There is a warning for us not to be like Thamud who preferred blindness over the guidance to be annihilated by the thunderbolt. There is also an example for us to reflect to the history of people who followed the guidance with Moses even when they had been persecuted by Pharaoh and his people.

God has repeatedly told us in the Quran that His guidance is the true guidance which means that He has provided us what we need to follow to be guided by Him. He has also repeatedly told us that He has sent the messenger with the guidance and the true religion to prevail it over any other religion which means that He has prescribed its practice for the people to avoid any conjecture and personal desire to be guided by Him. Thus, we have the opportunity to verify and confirm whether we are guided ones or we have gone astray before departing this worldly life. Now if we can have a clear understanding of God’s guidance as well as reflect to the warning of the worst and everlasting punishment in the Hereafter, we may make initiatives to ensure our back to a right place of return.

Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
