[3:64] Say, “O people of the scripture, come to a fair commitment between us and between you: that we do not worship except God, and that we do not associate anything as a partner with Him, and that we do not take each other as lords other than God.” Then if they have turned away, then say, “Bear witness that we are submitters.”
[3:65] O people of the scripture, why do you argue concerning Abraham, while the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down except from after him? Then do you not use intellect?”
[3:66] Look, you are the ones who argued about what you had knowledge of; so why do you argue about what you have no knowledge of? And God knows, while you do not know.
[3:67] Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a monotheist submitter; and he was not among the polytheists.
[3:68] Indeed, the closest of people to Abraham are surely those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who have believed; and God is the Protector of the believers.
[ 28:52] Those to whom we gave the scripture from before it, they believe in it.
[28:53] And when it is recited to them, they say, “We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, we were, from before it, submitters.”
[28:54] Those, they are given their reward twice because they have been patient; and they repel evil with good, and from what we have provided them, they spend.
[28:55] And when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say, “For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace be upon you. We do not seek the ignorant.”
[28:56] Indeed, you do not guide whom you have loved, but God guides whom He wills; and He knows best those who are guided.
[2:40] O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill My covenant, I will fulfill your covenant; and you shall fear Me alone.
[2:41] And you shall believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is with you, and do not be the first disbeliever in it, and do not exchange My revelations for a small price; and you shall fear Me alone.
[2:42] And do not mix the truth with falsehood and do not conceal the truth, while you know.
[2:43] And you shall establish the salat prayer, and shall give the zakat, and shall bow down with those who bow down.
[2:44] Do you command the people to piety, and you forget yourselves, while you recite the scripture? Then do you not understand?
[2:45] And you shall seek help with patience and the salat prayer; and indeed, it is surely difficult except for the humble ones.
[2:46] Those who expect that they are meeting their Lord and that to Him they are returning.
[2:47] O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over the people.
[2:48] And you shall fear a day a soul does not avail for a soul anything, and not is accepted from it intercession, and not is taken from it compensation, and they are not helped.
[2:49] And when we saved you from Pharaoh’s people, they are afflicting you with the worst of the punishment: they slaughter your sons and they let live your women. And in that was a great test from your Lord.
[2:50] And when we parted the sea for you, then we saved you, and we drowned Pharaoh’s people while you are watching.
[2:51] And when we appointed Moses forty nights, then you took the calf after him, while you are wrongdoers.
[2:52] Then we pardoned from you from after that, so that you may appreciate.
[2:53] And when we gave Moses the scripture and the statute book, so that you may be guided.
[2:54] And when Moses said to his people, ‘O my people, indeed, you have wronged your souls by your taking the calf; so you shall repent to your Creator and you shall kill your souls. That is better for you with your Creator.’ Then He turned to you; indeed, He, He is the Redeemer, the Merciful.
[2:55] And when you said, “O Moses, we will never believe in you until we see God in open sight.” Then the thunderbolt seized you, while you are looking.
[2:56] Then we revived you after your death so that you may appreciate.
[2:57] And We shaded over you the clouds, and We sent down upon you the manna and the quails: ‘You shall eat from the good things what We have provided you.’ And they did not wrong Us, but they were wronging themselves.”
[2:58] And when we said, “Enter this town, then eat from it wherever you wished abundantly, and enter the gate prostrating, and say, “Forgiveness.” We will forgive for you your sins, and we will increase the good-doers.”
[2:59] But those who wronged changed a word other than that which was said to them. So we sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they had been disobeying.
[2:60] And when Moses asked for water for his people, then we said, “Strike the stone with your staff.” Then there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Certainly, every people knew their drinking place. “Eat and drink from the provision of God, and do not act wickedly in the earth as corruptors.”
[2:61] And when you said, “O Moses, we will not endure upon one food, so pray for us to your Lord to produce for us from what the earth grows of its herbs, and its cucumbers, and its garlic, and its lentils, and its onions.” He said, “Do you exchange that which is inferior for that which is better? Go down a city, then indeed for you is what you asked.” And struck upon them was the humiliation and the misery, and they returned with wrath from God. That was because they had been disbelieving in the signs of God and killing the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and they had been transgressing.
[2:62] Indeed, those who have believed, and those who became Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians—whoever has believed in God and the Last Day and has done righteousness, then for them is their reward with their Lord, and no fear is upon them, and they do not grieve.
[5:15] O People of the scripture, our messenger has certainly come to you to make clear for you much of what you have been concealing from the scripture, and to overlook much. Certainly, there has come to you from God a light and a clarifying scripture.
[5:16] God guides with it whoever has sought His pleasure to ways of peace, and brings them out of the darknesses into the light by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.
[5:17] Certainly, those who have disbelieved said, “Indeed, God: He is the Messiah, son of Mary.” Say, “Then who possesses any control against God if He has intended to destroy the Messiah, son of Mary, and his mother, and whoever is on the earth, all of them?” And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and what is between them. He creates whatever He wills, and God is powerful over everything.
[5:18] And the Jews and the Christians said, “We are God’s children and His beloved.” Say, “Then why does He punish you for your sins? Nay, you are human beings from among those He has created.” He forgives whomever He wills and punishes whomever He wills. And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the final return.
[3:98] Say, “O People of the scripture, why do you disbelieve in the revelations of God, while God is a Witness over what you do?”
[3:99] Say, “O People of the scripture, why do you prevent from a path of God whoever has believed, desiring it crooked while you are witnesses?” And God is not unaware of what you do
[3:113] They are not all alike; among the People of the scripture is a righteous community: they recite the revelations of God during the hours of the night while they prostrate.
[3:114] They believe in God and the Last Day, they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and they hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.
[3:115] And whatever good they do, they will never be denied its reward. And God is Knower of the righteous.
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
