Out of 73 instances of jazaa in the verb form found in 70 verses of 37 surahs in the Quran, here are details of 59 instances found in 57 verses of 28 surahs to better understand their meaning in different contexts:
[2:48] And you shall fear a day no soul will avail anything from another soul (wa-ittaquu yawman laa-tajzee nafsun `an nafsin shayan), nor will there be accepted any intercession from it, nor will there be taken any compensation from it, nor will they be helped.
[2:123] And you shall fear a day no soul will avail anything from another soul (wa-ittaquu yawman laa-tajzee nafsun `an nafsin shayan), nor will there be accepted any compensation from it, nor will there benefit it any intercession, nor will they be helped.
[3:144] And Muhammad is not only a messenger; certainly, there had passed away the messengers from before of him. So, if he had died or he had been killed, would you have turned back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, then he does not hurt God in anything, while God will recompense the grateful ones (wa-sa’yaj’zee allahu al-shaakireena).
[3:145] And it has not been for any soul (person) that it dies except by permission of God, is a determined decree. And whoever desires a reward of the world, we give him from it, and whoever desires a reward of the Hereafter, we give him from it. And we will recompense the grateful ones (wa-sa’naj’zee al-shaakireena)
[4:123] It has not been of your desires, nor desires of a people of the scripture. Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it (man ya’mal suuan yuj’za bihi), and he will not find for him other than God any protector, nor any helper.
[6:84] And we had granted to him (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob – each we had guided. And Noah, we had guided from before (of them), and of his descendants: David, and Solomon, and Job, and Joseph, and Moses, and Aaron. And thus that we recompense the gooddoers (wa-ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-muh’sineena) .
[6:93] And who is more wicked than whoever has invented a lie about God, or said: “It has been inspired to me,” while it was not inspired anything to him; and whoever said: “I will bring down like what God has sent down.” And if you could see when the wicked are in agonies of the death, while the angels are stretching out their hands: “Discharge your souls; today, you will be recompensed with the humiliating punishment (al-yawma tuj’zawna `adhaaba al-huuni) for what you have done to say about God other than the truth, and you had been to be arrogant towards His revelations.”
[6:120] You shall avoid the obvious sins as well as the hidden ones. Indeed, those who have earned the sins will be recompensed (inna alladheena yak’sibuuna al-ith’ma sa-yuj’zawna) for what they have done to commit.
[6:138] And they (the wicked allies of humans and jinns) said, “These livestock and crops are forbidden; none can eat them except whomever we will,” by their claim. And livestock – their backs are forbidden and livestock – they do not mention God’s name upon them inventing against Him. He will recompense them for what they have done to invent (sa-yaj’zeehim bimaa kaanuu yaf’taruuna).
[6:139] And they said, “What is in wombs of these livestock being exclusive for our males, and has been prohibited for our spouses, while if it would be dead, then they are partners in it.” He will recompense them for their fabrication (sa-yaj’zeehim wasfahum); indeed, He is Wise, Knower.
[6:146] And upon those who have turned to Jews we have forbidden all that have claws; and from the cattle and the sheep we forbade their fat except what has attached to the back, or the entrails, or what has joined with bone. That we have recompensed them for their rebellion (dhaalika jazaynaahum bi-bagh’yihim), and indeed, we are surely truthful.
[6:157] Or you say: “If that the scripture had been sent down to us, we would surely have been better in guidance than them.” That certainly, there has come to you a clear proof from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy. Then who is more wicked than whoever has denied in God’s revelations and has turned away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from our revelations an evil punishment (sa-naj’zee alladheena yas’difuuna `an aayaatinaa suua al-`adhaabi) for what they have done to turn away.
[6:160] Whoever has come with the good deed, then for him is like ten times of it, and whoever has come with the evil deed, then he will not be recompensed except like of it (fa-laa-yuj’zaa illaa mith’lahaa), and they will not be wronged.
[7:40] Indeed, those who have denied in our revelations and have been arrogant from them, will not open gates of the sky for them, nor will they enter the Paradise until the camel passes through an eye of the needle. And thus that we recompense the criminals (wa-ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-muj’rimeena).
[7:41] For them is a bed of Hell and of their above are barriers. And thus that we recompense the wicked (wa-ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-zaalimeena).
[7:147] And those who have denied in our revelations and a meeting of the Hereafter, their deeds have become worthless. Will they be recompensed except for what they have done to achieve (hal yuj’zawna illaa maa kaanuu ya`maluuna?
[7:152] Indeed, those who have taken the calf will reach them wrath from their Lord, and humiliation in the life of the world. And thus that, we recompense the fabricators (wa-ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-muf’tareena).
[7:180] And to God belongs the most graceful names; so, you shall call upon Him with them and shall disregard those who deviate from His names. They will be recompensed for what they have done to achieve (sa-yuj’zawna maa kaanuu ya`maluuna).
[9:121] And they do not spend any spending lesser nor greater, nor do they cross a valley, except what has been decreed for them that God will recompense them best for what they had done to accomplish (li’yaj’ziyahumu ah’sana maa kaanuu ya`maluuna).
[10:4] To Him is all of your return, a promise of God is truth. Indeed, He originates the creation, then He repeats it that He may recompense those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds with the justice (li’yaj’ziya alladheena aamanuu wa-`amiluu al-saalihaati bil-qisti), while those who have disbelieved, for them is a drink of boiling fluids and a painful punishment of what they have done to disbelieve.
[10:13] And that certainly, we have destroyed the generations from before of you when they had wronged and had come to them their messengers with the clear proofs, and they had not done to believe. Thus that we recompense the people who were the criminals (ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-qawma al-muj’rimeena).
[10:52] Then it had been said to those who had wronged, “Taste a punishment of the everlasting. Are you recompensed except for what you have done to earn (hal tuj’zawna illaa bimaa kuntum tak’sibuuna)?”
[12:75] They said, “Its recompense is whoever, in his bag has been found, then he will be his recompense. Thus that we recompense the wrong-doers (ka-dhaalika naj’zee the zaalimeena).”
[12:88] Then when they had entered upon him, they said, “O you the honorable, the adversity has touched us and our family, and we have come with goods of little value, but fulfill the measure for us and be charitable to us. Indeed, God recompenses the charitable (inna allaha yaj’zee al-mutasadiqeena).”
[14:51] That God will recompense each soul for whatever it has earned (li’yaj’ziya allahu kulla nafsin maa kasabat). Indeed, God is swift in the reckoning.
[16:31] Gardens of Eden they will enter it, underneath of it the rivers will flow. For them in it is whatever they will wish. Thus that God recompenses the righteous (ka-dhaalika yaj’zee allahu al-muttaqeena).
[16:96] Whatever is with you runs out, while whatever is with God is remaining. And that we will surely recompense those who have been steadfast (wa-la’naj’ziyanna alladheena sabaruu) of their reward with a best of what they have done to accomplish.
[16:97] Whoever has done as a righteous, whether a male or a female, and he is believer, then that we will give him a good life, and that we will surely recompense them their reward with a best (wa-la’najziyannahum aj’rahum bi-ah’sani) of what they have done to accomplish.
[20:15] Indeed, the Hour is coming; I will almost hide it that each soul is recompensed for what it strives (akaadu ukh’feehaa li’tujzaa kullu nafsin bimaa tas’`aa).
[20:127] And thus that we recompense whoever has transgressed and does not believe in revelations of his Lord (wa-ka-dhaalika naj’zee man as’rafa wa-lam yu’min bi-aayaati rabbihi). And that the punishment in the Hereafter is more severe and everlasting.
[21:29] And whoever of them says, “Indeed, I am a god other than Him.” Then that we will recompense him Hell (fa-dhaalika naj’zeehi jahannama). Thus that we recompense the wrongdoers (ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-zaalimeena).
[23:111] “Indeed, I have recompensed them today (innii jazay’tuhumual-yawma) for that they (the believers) had been steadfast, indeed, they are the successful ones.”
[24:38] That God will recompense them best of what they had done (li’yaj’ziyahumu allahu ah’sana maa `amiluu), and will increase them from His bounty. And God provides for whomever He wills without reckoning.
[25:75] Those will be recompensed the excellent dwelling for that they had been patient (ulaaika yuj’zawna al-ghur’fata bimaa sabaruu), and they will be received greeting and peace therein.
[27:90] And whoever has come with the evil, then there has been cast down their faces in the Fire. Are you recompensed for what you had done to accomplish (hal tuj’zawna illaa maa kuntum ta`maluuna)?
[28:14] And when he had reached his full strength and had become mature, we gave him wisdom and knowledge. And thus that we recompense the good-doers (wa-ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-muh’sineena).
[28:25] Then there had come to him one of the two women walking upon shying. She said, “My father calls you to recompense you a reward (abee yad’`uuka li’yaj’ziyaka aj’ra) for that you have watered for us.” So when he had come to him and had narrated the story, he said, “Do not fear. You have escaped from the people of the wrongdoers.”
[28:84] Whoever has come with the good, then for him there will be better than it, and whoever has come with the evil, then there will not be recompensed those who have done the evil (fa-laa-yuj’zaa alladheena `amiluu al-saayyiaati) except for what they had done to accomplish.
[29:7] Those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds, that we will surely remove from them their evil deeds, and that we will surely recompense them best for what they had done to achieve (wa-la’naj’ziyannahum ah’sana alladhee kaanuu ya’maluuna).
[30:45] That He will recompense those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds from His bounty (li-yaj’ziya alladheena aamanuu wa-`amiluu al-saalihaati min fad’lihi). Indeed, He does not love the disbelievers.
[31:33] O the people, you shall fear your Lord and shall fear a Day, a father will not avail himself for his son (laa-yaj’zee waalidun `an waladihi), nor a son will he be an availing one for his father in anyway. Indeed, a promise of God is truth. So, do not let the life of the world deceive you, nor let the deceiver deceive you about God.
[33:24] That God will recompense the truthful ones of their truthfulness (li’yaj’ziya allahu al-saadiqeena bi-sid’qihim), and will punish the hypocrites if He wills, or He may turn to them in mercy (upon their repentance). Indeed, God has been Forgiving, Merciful.
[34:4] That He will recompense those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds (li’yaj’ziya alladheena aamanuu wa-`amiluu al-saalihaati). Those – for them is forgiveness and an honorable provision.
[34:17] That we recompensed them for that they had disbelieved (dhaalika jazaynaahum bimaa kafaruu). And do we not recompense except the ungrateful ones?
[34:33] And those who had been oppressed said to those who had been arrogant, “Nay, it was a plot of the night and the day when you order us that we disbelieve in God and we make equals to Him.” And they concealed the regret when they had seen the punishment. And we have placed shackles around the necks of those who had disbelieved. Are they recompensed except for what they had done to accomplish (hal yuj’zawna illaa maa kaanuu ya`maluuna)?
[35:36] And those who have disbelieved, for them there will be the fire of Hell. Neither there is decreed for them that they die, nor will there be lightened for them of its torment Thus that we recompense every ungrateful one (ka-dhaalika naj’zee kulla kafuurin).
[36:54] That the Day no soul will be wronged in anything, nor will you be recompensed except for what you had done to accomplish (wa-laa-tuj’zawna illaa maa kuntum ya`maluuna).
[37:39] And you will not be recompensed except for what you had done to accomplish (wa-maa tuj’zawna illaa maa kuntum ta`lamuuna).
[37:80] Indeed we, thus that we recompense the good doers (innaa ka-dhaalika naj’zee al-muh’sineena).

[40:17] Today every soul will be recompensed for whatever it has earned (al-yawma tuj’zaa kullu nafsin bimaa kasabat). Today there will be no injustice. Indeed, God is very efficient in the reckoning.
[40:40] Whoever has done as an evil, then he will not be recompensed except like of it (fa-laa-yuj’zaa illaa mith’lahaa), and whoever has done as a righteous of male or female, while he is a believer, then those will enter the Paradise, they will be given provision in it without reckoning.
[41:27] Thus that we will surely make taste those who have disbelieved a severe punishment, and that we will surely recompense them a worse (wa-la’naj’ziyannahum as’waa) of that they have done to accomplish.
Upon review the messages of 59 instances of jazaa meaning to recompense in the verb form found in 57 verses of 28 surahs in the Quran we may understand that our belief and practice are not centering a person but a message from God, while there is no intercession, even a father cannot help his son and a son cannot help his father. Those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds will be recompensed forgiveness and an honorable provision and they will enter gardens of Eden underneath of it the rivers will flow and in it for them is whatever they will wish. On the other hand those who have disbelieved and have been arrogant turning away from His revelations, for them will be the fire of Hell, which will not be decreased, nor will it be lightened for them. Those who have invented a lie about God will be recompensed with a humiliating punishment and those who have denied His revelations will be recompensed of that they will not enter the Paradise until the camel passes through an eye of the needle, and those who have come with the evil have been cast down their faces in the Fire.
A day no soul will be wronged in anything, nor will it be recompensed except for what it had done to accomplish. Those who have done evil will not be recompensed except like of it, but those who have done good from male or female will enter the Paradise and they will be given provision without reckoning, which is the recompense for the good doers from their Lord.
We may prepare ourselves knowing that the Hour is coming and we will meet our Lord when He will recompense us for what we have done for our souls. If we desire a reward from God in the world, He will give us it in it, while if we desire a reward from Him in the Hereafter, He will give us it in it. Thus, if we do the good in the world, we will be recompensed with the best in the Hereafter removing worst from us, but if we do the evil in the world, we will be recompensed with the worst in the Hereafter, is a promise of God is truth. . .
