Surah al-Takaathur (Surah 102: Revelation Order 16)

Desire for accumulating wealth is a human tragedy

  • There has diverted you the hoarding (102:1). Until you have visited the graves (102:2). Nay, you will know (102:3). Then nay, you will know (102:4). Nay, if you would have knowledge of the certainty (102:5).

Note: Human being accumulates wealth without thinking that he has to leave this world, which is impossible for him to realize it. Since there are three conditional particles in the Arabic language such as in, idhaa and lou meaningif. in and idhaa with possibility, while lou with impossibility, and lou is used here that the human being should make special attention to it not to see the Hell for accumulating wealth.

Human being must see Hell for accumulating wealth

  • Surely, you will see the Hellfire (102:6). Then you will see it with an eye of the certainty (102:7). Then surely, you will be questioned on that Day about the pleasure (102:8).

Note: Those who will run after wealth forgetting God will see the Hell with their own eye on a Day they meet their Lord.

Surah al-Takaathur (The Hoarding) is a short surah consisting of 8 verses, in which God has warned us about hoarding of wealth being it a human tragedy, and that those who have done it will surely see Hell on a Day they meet their Lord.
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
