- 14. Elias also known as Elijah has been mentioned 3 times by name spelled out in Ilyaas in the Quran found in 3 verses across 2 surahs. He was one of the sent ones and had been among the righteous:
[6:85] And Zakariya, John, Jesus, and Elias; all were among the righteous.
[37:123] Indeed, Elias was surely one of the sent ones.
[37:130] Peace upon Elias.
- 15. Elisha has been mentioned 2 times by name spelled out in al-yasa`a in the Quran found in 2 verses in 2 surahs. God has preferred him over the people of the word and was among the best:
[6:86] And Ismail, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot, and all we had preferred over the people of the world.
[38:48] And remember Ismail, and Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; and all were among the best.
- 16. Jonah has been mentioned 4 times by name in the Quran found in 4 verses in 4 surahs. He was one of the sent ones. He was also referred as Dhul Nun in the Quran, who had abandoned God given mission and called his Lord from the darkness when the fish had swallowed him. God had responded to him and saved him:
[4:163] Indeed, we have inspired to you (Muhammad), as we had inspired to Noah and the prophets after of him. And we had inspired to Abraham, and Ismail, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and Jesus, and Job, and Jonah, and Aaron, and Solomon. And we had given David Psalms.
[6:86] And Ismail, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot, and all we had preferred over the people of the world.
[10:98] So has there been not a town had believed, then its faith would have benefited it, even a people of Jonah? When they had believed, we removed from them a punishment of the disgrace in the life of the world and granted them an enjoyment for a while.
[37:139] And indeed, Jonah was surely one of the sent ones.
- 17. Zakariya has been mentioned 7 times in the Quran found in 6 verses across 4 surahs. Mary was put in care of Zakariya. He called his Lord in secret to have a pure son and God had responded to his call and gave him John as a prophet:
[6:85] And Zakariya, John, Jesus, and Elias; all were among the righteous.
[3:37] So her Lord has accepted her a gracious acceptance and has brought her up a gracious upbringing, and has put her in care of Zakariya. Whenever Zakariya had entered upon her in the chamber he found provision with her. He said, “O Mary, from where is this for you?” She said, “It is from God.” Indeed, God provides for whomever He wills without reckoning.
[3:38] When Zakariya had invoked his Lord, he said: “My Lord, grant for me a pure offspring from Yourself; indeed, You are Hearer of the prayer.”
[19:2] There is mention of your Lord’s mercy to His servant Zakariya.
[19:7] “O Zakariya, indeed, we give you good news of a boy, his name is John; we do not assign name to it before.”
[21:89] And Zakariya, when he had called to his Lord: “My Lord, do not leave me without an heir, and You are the best inheritor.”
- 18. John has been mentioned 5 times by name in the Quran found in 5 verses in 4 surahs. He was honorable and honest. He was given the wisdom at childhood and made him a prophet from the righteous:
[3:39] Then the angels called him (Zakariya) while he was standing to pray in the prayer house, “indeed, God gives you good news of John, confirming with a word from God, and an honorable and honest, and a prophet from the righteous.”
[6:85] And Zakariya, John, Jesus, and Elias; all were among the righteous.
[19:7] “O Zakariya, indeed, we give you good news of a boy, his name is John; we do not assign name to it before.”
[19:12] “O John, you shall hold the scripture with strength.” And we had given him the wisdom at childhood.
[21:90] So we had responded to him (Zakariya) and had granted him John; we had cured his wife for him. They had been to hasten in the good deeds, and they would call us in hope and fear. And they had been reverent to us.
- 19. Jesus has been mentioned 25 times by name in the Quran, and out of 25 times he has been mentioned 16 times to be a son of Mary. He was given the Injeel being the 19th prophet and was made him a sign to predict the time when the word will come to an end. He was given clear proofs and supported with the Holy Spirit. His birth was as like as Adam, and each of them has been mentioned 25 times is a fact not to have any confusion about his birth, while His birth and death have been confirmed in the Quran and there is no mention of his second coming in it except a myth around us as the dead cannot come back until a day of the Resurrection:
[2:87] And indeed, we had given Moses the scripture and had followed up after of him with the messengers, and we had given Jesus, son of Mary the profound miracles and had supported him with the Holy Spirit. Is it that every time a messenger has come to you with what does not desire your egos, you have been arrogant? So, a party of you has denied, and a party of you kill.
[2:136] Say, “We have believed in God, and what has been sent down to us, and what has been sent down to Abraham, and Ismail, and Isaac, and Jacob and the Patriarchs; and what has been given to Moses and Jesus, and what has been given to the prophets from their Lord. We do not make distinction between anyone of them. And we are Submitters to Him.”
[2:253] That is of the messengers, we had preferred of them over other. Of them there was whomever God had spoken to and He had raised of them in ranks. And we had given Jesus, son of Mary the clear proofs and had supported him with the Holy Spirit. And if God had willed, there would not have fought of those who were after of them after what had come to them the clear proofs; but they had differed that of them there was whoever had believed and of them there was whoever had disbelieved. And if God had willed, they would not have fought, but God does whatever He wills.
[3:45] When the angels said, “O Mary, indeed, God gives you good news with a word from Him, his name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary with honor in the world and the Hereafter, and of those who are brought closest.
[3:52] Then when Jesus had perceived the disbelief from them he said, “Who are my helpers to God?” The disciples said, “We are helpers of God, we have believed in God, and you (Jesus) shall bear witness of that we are submitters.
[3:55] When God said, “O Jesus, indeed, I am Terminator of you and Raiser of you to Me, and Purifier of you from those who have disbelieved, and I am Maker of superior of those who have followed you (Jesus) to those who have disbelieved on a day of the Resurrection. Then to Me is all your return, then I will judge between yourselves in what you have done to differ in it.
[3:59] Indeed, an example of Jesus with God, is like an example of Adam; He has created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” so he was.
[3:84] Say, “We have believed in God, and what has been sent down to us, and what has been sent down to Abraham, and Ismail, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and what has been given to Moses, and Jesus, and the prophets from their Lord. We do not make distinction between anyone of them, and we are submitters to Him.”
[4:157] And (it was) their saying, “indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, a messenger of God.” And they have not killed him, nor have they crucified him but it has been made so for them. And indeed, those who have differed in it, are surely in doubt about it. There is no knowledge of it for them except following the assumption, while certainty is they have not killed him.
[4:171] O people of the scripture, you do not exceed in your religion, nor do you say about God except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary was indeed a messenger of God and His word He had sent to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So, you shall believe in God and His messengers. You do not say, “Trinity.” You shall refrain, which is better for you. God is indeed One god; glory is His that there would be a son for Him! To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And it has sufficed with God as a Disposer of affairs.
[5:46] And we have followed on their footsteps with Jesus, son of Mary confirming of that which was before of it of the Torah, and we have given him the Gospel; in it there is guidance and light, and confirming of that which was before of it of the Torah, and a guidance and instruction for the righteous.
[5:78] There has been cursed those who had disbelieved from Children of Israel by tongue of David and Jesus, son of Mary. That was of that they had disobeyed and had done to transgress.
[5:110] When God said, “O Jesus, son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I had supported you with the Holy Spirit to speak to the people in the crib and in maturity; and when I had taught you the scripture and the wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you make from the clay like a shape of the bird by My permission, then you breathe into it, so it becomes a (live) bird by My permission, and you heal the blind and the leper by My permission; and when you bring forth the dead by My permission; and when I had restrained the Children of Israel from you when you had come to them with the clear proofs, then those who had disbelieved from them said, ‘This is not but a clear magic.’”
[5:112] “When the disciples said, ‘O Jesus, son of Mary, can your Lord be able to send down to us a feast from the heaven?” He said, “You shall fear God, if you have been believers.”
[5:114] Jesus, son of Mary, said, “O God, our Lord, send down to us a feast from the heaven, it would be for us a festival for first of us and last of us, and a sign from You. And provide for us and You are the best the Provider.”
[5:116] And when God said, “O Jesus, son of Mary, have you said to the people, `Worship me and my mother as gods other than God?’ ” He said, “Glory is Yours. It would not be for me that I could say what has not been with any right for me. If I had said it, then You would have certainly known it. You know what is in myself, and I do not know what is in Yourself. Indeed You, You are Knower of the unseen.
[6:85] And Zakariya, John, Jesus, and Elias; all were among the righteous.
[19:34] That was Jesus, son of Mary, a statement of the truth which they dispute about it.
[33:7] And when we had taken from the prophets their covenant, and from you (Muhammad), and from Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus, son of Mary. And we had taken from them a solemn covenant.
[42:13] He has decreed for you (all) of the religion what He had enjoined Noah with it, and which we have inspired to you (Muhammad), and what we had enjoined Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus of it that you shall establish the religion and not dividing in it. It has been difficult for the idolaters which you (Muhammad) call them to it. God chooses to Himself whomever He wills and He guides to Himself whoever turns.
[43:63] And when Jesus had come with the clear proofs, he said, “Certainly, I have come to you with the wisdom, and that I make clear of that which you differ in it. So you shall fear God and shall obey me.
[57:27] Then we have followed on their footsteps with our messengers, and we have followed with Jesus, son of Mary, and we have given him the Injeel, and we have placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who had followed him. While they have invented monasticism we have not prescribed it for them except for seeking God’s pleasure but they have not observed it a right observance. So we have given those who have believed among them their reward, while most of them are disobedient.
[61:6] And when Jesus, son of Mary, said, “O Children of Israel, indeed, I am a messenger of God to you confirming that which was before of me of the Torah, and a bearer of good news of a messenger to come after of me – his name to be Ahmad.” Then when he (Muhammad) had come to them with the clear proofs, they said, “This is a clear magic.”
[61:14] O you who have believed, you shall be helpers of God like that Jesus, son of Mary, said to the disciples, “Who are my helpers towards God,” The disciples said, “We are helpers of God.” Then a group of Children of Israel had believed, and a group had disbelieved. So we had helped those who had believed against their enemy, so they had been dominant.
- 20. Muhammad has been mentioned 4 times by name in the Quran found in 4 verses in 4 surahs. He is the 20th prophet who has been given the Quran, a messenger of God and the final edition of the scripture and the truth from God to guide humanity to a straight path of our Lord until the end of the world, while the Quran itself has been a sign of his prophethood and he has been a messenger like the messengers who had preceded him, and he has been a gentile messenger prophet, and there is mention of him to come as a messenger in the previous scripture:
[3:144] And Muhammad is not but a messenger; certainly, had passed away the messengers before of him. So, if he had died or he had been killed, would you have turned back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, then he does not hurt God in anything, while God will reward the grateful ones.
[33:40] Muhammad has not been a father of anyone of your men, but has been a messenger of God and a seal of the prophets. And God has done as Knower of everything.
[47:2] And those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds, and have believed in what has been sent down to Muhammad and it is the truth from their Lord – He has removed their evil deeds from them and has improved their situation.
[48:29] Muhammad, a messenger of God and those who are with himself are harsh against the disbelievers, are merciful between themselves. You see them as bowers and prostrators seeking blessing from God and pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from a trace of the prostration. That is their analogy in the Torah, while their analogy in the Gospel is like a seed has produced its shoot, then it has strengthened it, then it has become thick, then it has stood upon its stem to please the sowers that He can enrage the disbelievers by them. God has promised those who have believed and have done the righteous deeds of them forgiveness and a great recompense.
This is the last sermon knowing the names of 20 prophets, and the total of their names is 456, is a multiple of 19 => 456 (19X24) being also a fact from Quran not to have any doubt or debate about it
Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
