- 10. Moses has been mentioned 136 times by name in the Quran found in 131 verses across 33 surahs. He had spoken to God and God has chosen him with His messages and words over the people of the world and he was given nine miracles, while Moses and Aaron were sent to Pharaoh and his leaders with His signs:
[20:9] And has there come to you a story of Moses?
[20:11] Then when he had come to it, he had been called, “O, Moses.”
[20:17] “What is that in your right hand, O Moses?”
[20:19] He (God) said, “Throw it down, O’ Moses.”
[20:36] He (God) said, “Certainly you have been granted of your request, O Moses.
[20:40] When your sister walks to, then she says, “Shall I direct you whoever can nurse him?” Thus, we had returned you to your mother, that she may cool her eyes and may not grieve. And you had killed a person, then we had saved you from the distress; and we had tested you with a test. Then you had stayed for years among a people of Madyan. Then you had appeared on a decreed time, O Moses.
[20:49] He said, “Who is both of your Lord, O Moses.”
[20:57] He (Pharaoh) said, “Have you come to us to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Moses?
[20:61] Moses said to them, “Woe to you! Do not invent a lie about God, then He will destroy you with a punishment; and certainly, he failed who had invented.”
[20:65] They said, “O Moses, either of that you throw, or of that we will be first whoever has thrown.”
[20:67] So Moses had harbored a fear in himself.
[20:70] So, there had been thrown down of the magicians as prostrators. They said, “We have believed in Lord of Aaron and Moses.”
[20:77] And certainly, we had inspired to Moses that you shall travel by night with My servants and shall strike for them a dry path through the sea; do not fear for overtaking, nor to be afraid (of drowning).”
[20:83] “What has made you to hasten from your people, O Moses?”
[20:86] So Moses had returned to his people, angry and disappointed. He said, “O my people, did your Lord not promise you a fair promise? Have you then seemed the promise to you too long? Or have you desired that anger from your Lord descends upon you that you have broken promise to me?”
[20:88] Then he had brought forth for them a statue of calf to have it lowing sound. Then they said, “This is your god and god of Moses, but he had forgotten.”
[20:91] They said, “We will not cease being devoted to it until Moses returns to us.”
[21:48] And we had given Moses and Aaron the statute book, a light, and a reminder for the righteous.
[22:44] And dwellers of Madyan. And Moses had been denied. So I had granted respite to the disbelievers, then I seized them, then how had been My punishment.
[23:45] Then we had sent Moses and his brother, Aaron with our signs and a clear authority.
[23:49] And certainly, we had given Moses the scripture that they may be guided.
[25:35] And certainly, we had given Moses the scripture and had made his brother Aaron an assistant with him.
[26:10] When your Lord had called Moses that you shall go to the people of the wrongdoers.
[26:43] Moses said, “Throw what you are going to throw.
[26:45] Then Moses had thrown his staff, so when it swallows what they falsify.
[26:48] “Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
[26:52] And we had inspired to Moses that you shall travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be followed.”
[26:61] Then when the two parties see each other, Moses’ companions said, “Indeed, we are surely being overtaken.”
[26:63] Then we had inspired to Moses that strike the sea with your staff, then it had parted, so each part had become like the big mountain.
[26:65] And we had saved Moses and all whoever were with him.
[27:7] When Moses said to his family (his brethren), “Indeed me, I have seen a fire. I will bring you of a news from it or will bring you a burning flame so that you may be warmed up.”
[27:9] “O Moses, indeed He; I am God – the Almighty, the Wise.
[27:10] And throw down your staff. Then when he had seen it moving like it a snake, he turned in fleeing and did not look back. “O Moses, do not fear. Indeed, in My presence the sent ones shall not fear.
[28:3] We recite to you a news of Moses and Pharaoh with the truth for a people to believe.
[28:7] And we had inspired to Moses’ mother that you shall suckle him, then when you have feared for him that you shall throw him into the river, and do not fear, nor do you grieve. Indeed, we will be restorer of him to you, and will be maker of him one of the sent ones.
[28:10] And heart of Moses’ mother had become empty that she has been near to disclose of him, if not that we had strengthened of her heart that she would be one of the believers.
[28:15] And he had entered the city at time of unawareness of its people, then he found two men were fighting each other – one is from his sect and one is from his enemy. Then one who was from his sect had called him for help against one who was from his enemy. Then Moses had struck him, so he killed him. He said, “This is from a deed of the Satan; indeed, he is an enemy as a clear misleader.”
[28:18] Afterwards, in the morning he had been in the city being fearful to be vigilant, then when one who had sought help to him of the previous day cried out for help to him. Moses said to him, “Indeed, you are surely a clear deviator.”
[28:19] Then when that he had intended to strike of one who was an enemy to both of them, he said, “O Moses, do you intend to kill me like that you had killed a person yesterday? You do not want except that you would be a tyrant in the earth, nor do you want that you would be one of the reformers.”
[28:20] And there had come a man running from farthest end of the city; he said, “O Moses; indeed, the leaders are consulting about you to kill you, so you shall leave (now). Indeed, I am to you one of the sincere advisors.”
[28:29] Then when Moses had fulfilled the term, and he traveled with his family, he had seen a fire from a direction of the Mount. He said to his family, “Stay here. Indeed, I have seen a fire that I can bring to you of a news from it, or a burning wood from the fire that you may be warmed up.”
[28:30] Then when he had come to it, he had been called from the right side of the valley in the even place of the blessed from the tree that O Moses; indeed Me, I am God, Lord of the worlds.
[28:31] And that throw down your staff. Then when he had seen it moving like it a snake, he turned in fleeing and did not come back. “O Moses, come near; do not fear. Indeed, you are among the secure.”
[28:36] Then when Moses had come to them with our clear signs, they said, “This is not but a magic of invented one. And we have not heard of this from our forefathers of the previous generations.”
[28:37] And Moses said, “My Lord knows best of whoever has come with the guidance from Him and whoever would be for him a good end of the Hereafter. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed”
[28:38] And Pharaoh said, “O you elders, I have not known for you any god other than me. So kindle for me; O Haman. Upon the clay that build a lofty tower for me so that I may look at god of Moses. And indeed, I think that he is with the liars.”
[28:43] And certainly, we had given Moses the scripture as enlightenments for the people, and a guidance and mercy so that they may take heed after what we had destroyed the former generations.
[28:44] And you had not been on the western side, when we had decreed the commandment to Moses, and you had not been among the witnesses.
[28:48] Then when the truth had come to them from us, they said, “Why not has been given like what had been given to Moses?” Did they not disbelieve in what had been given to Moses before? They said, “Two magicians have supported each other.” And they said, “Indeed, we are disbelievers in everyone.”
[28:76] Indeed, Qarun had been from a people of Moses, while he had oppressed on them and we had given him of the treasures which indeed its keys surely would burden of a company possessors of the great strength. When his people said to him, “Do not exult; indeed, God does not love the exultant.”
[29:39] And Qarun, and Pharaoh, and Haman. And certainly, there had come to them Moses with the clear signs, while they had been arrogant in the land, and they had not been foremost ones.
[32:23] And certainly, we had given Moses the scripture, so do not be in doubt about receiving of it. And we had made it a guidance for Children of Israel.
[33:7] And when we had taken from the prophets their covenant, and from you (Muhammad), and from Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus, son of Mary. And we had taken from them a solemn covenant.
[33:69] O you who have believed, you would not be like those who had harmed Moses, then God had cleared him of what they said, and he had been honorable to God.
[37:114] And certainly, we had bestowed favor upon Moses and Aaron.
[37:120] Peace upon Moses and Aaron.
[40:23] And certainly, we had sent Moses with our signs and a clear authority.
[40:26] Pharaoh said, “Leave me, I will kill Moses, and let him call his Lord. Indeed me, I fear that he will change your religion, or that he may cause to spread the corruption in the land.”
[40:27] Moses said, “Indeed me, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, from every arrogant one who does not believe in a day of the Reckoning.”
[40:37] “Ways of the heavens that I may look at god of Moses, and indeed me, I surely think him a liar.” Thus that there had been made fair-seeming to Pharaoh of his evil deed, and he had been averted from the path. And Pharaoh’s plot was not except in ruin.
[40:53] And certainly, we had given Moses the guidance, and we had made Children of Israel to inherit the scripture.
[41:45] And we had given Moses the scripture, then there had been disputed in it. And if it had not been a predetermined promise from your Lord, surely, it would have been settled between themselves. Indeed, they are surely in doubt from it being uneasiness.
[42:13] He has decreed for you of the religion what He had enjoined Noah with it, and which we have inspired to you (Muhammad), and what we had enjoined Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus of it that you shall establish the religion and not dividing in it. It has been difficult for the idolaters which you (Muhammad) call them to it. God chooses to Himself whomever He wills and He guides to Himself whoever turns.
[43:46] And certainly, we had sent Moses with our signs to Pharaoh and his elders, then he said: “Indeed me, I am a messenger from Lord of the worlds.”
[46:12] And before of it (Quran), a scripture of Moses was a guide and mercy, and this scripture is confirming in Arabic language to warn those who have done wrong and a good news for the good-doers.
[46:30] They (Jinns) said, “O our people; indeed, we have heard a scripture has been sent down after Moses, confirming that which was before of it to guide to the truth and to a path is straight.
[51:38] And in Moses when we had sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.
[53:36] Or was he not informed of what was in parchments of Moses?
[61:5] And when Moses said to his people, “O my people, why do you hurt me, while certainly, you know that I am a messenger of God to you?” Then when they had deviated, God had deviated their hearts, and God does not guide the people, the disobedient.
[79:15] Has there come to you a story of Moses?
[87:19] Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
