God has made responsible everyone of us for his/her works

When God sent the human being (Adam and Eve) to earth sent with His religion (2:37) but in simple form, which evolves over the period of time but the fundamental message has always been the same: “Submit to God and worship Him alone. He is the source of guidance and salvation (2:38). To Him we will all be returned.” The God’s system of sending prophets and messengers from time to time is a direct evidence of evolution in the religion of God while the advancement of human civilization on earth is an indirect evidence as the evolution in the religion fits it for all generations of the people of the world at all eras and times. However, the updates are communicated to the humanity through His scripture while those who received the scripture were the ones who rejected any new scripture, despite clear proofs given to them (2:213). As a consequence, we see many faiths of God’s religion and the people belonging to each faith claim their respective faith to be the perfect one. Despite such diversity we may come to a consensus that following God’s system is a great way to keep the soul and body healthy. Since the religion belongs to God (3:19, 3:83, 3:85, 110:2), those who believe in God and the Hereafter make efforts to lead their life in a given way to develop their souls expecting reward from Him. But it is a regret that most people do not take any initiatives to verify whether their way is according to God given set of rules and regulations (6:126, 17:9, 39:18) or man-made teachings and doctrines (31:6) practicing it like a social function (6:70) following their parents, traditions or religious leaders of their respective faith (2:170-171, 9:31, 42:21) while He has given us wisdom to distinguish between right and wrong expecting it to use before accepting any information from any sources for our own good (17:36):

[2:37] Then, Adam received from his Lord words, whereby He redeemed him. He is the Redeemer, Most Merciful.

[2:38] We said, “Go down therefrom, all of you. Then whenever guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever has followed My guidance, then there is no fear on them, nor do they grieve.

[2:213] The people used to be one community when God sent the prophets as bearers of good news, as well as warners. He sent down with them the scripture, bearing the truth, to judge among the people in their disputes. Ironically, those who received the scripture were the ones who rejected any new scripture, despite clear proofs given to them. This is due to jealousy on their part. God guides those who believe to the truth that is disputed by all others, in accordance with His will. God guides whoever He wills in a straight path.

[3:19]The religion given by God is “Submission”. Those who received the scripture have given the knowledge not to differ among them except out of jealousy. Those who disbelieve in God’s revelations, then (they should know that) God is most efficient in reckoning.

[3:83] Are they seeking other than God’s religion, when everything in the heavens and the earth has submitted to Him, willingly and unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned?

[3:85] Anyone who accepts other than Submission as his religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter, he will be with the losers.

[110:2] You (Muhammad) will see the people embracing God’s religion in throngs.

[6:126] And this (Quran) is the straight path to your Lord. Certainly, we have explained the revelations for a people who take heed.

[17:9] This Quran guides to the best path, and brings good news to the believers who lead a righteous life, that they have deserved a great recompense.

[39:18] They are the ones who examine all words, then follow the best. These are the ones whom God has guided; these are the ones who possess intelligence.

[31:6] Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of God without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution.

[6:70] You shall disregard those who take their religion to be a play and amusement, and are deceived by this worldly life. Remind with this that a soul will suffer for what it has earned. It will have none besides God as a protector nor an intercessor. If it could offer any kind of ransom, it would not be accepted. They will suffer for what they have earned; they will have a drink of boiling water and a painful retribution because of what they used to disbelieve.

[2:170] When they are told, “Follow what God has revealed herein,” they say, “We follow only what we found our parents doing.” What if their parents did not understand, and were not guided?

[2:171] The example of such disbelievers is that of parrots who repeat what they hear of sounds and calls, without understanding. Deaf, dumb, and blind; they cannot understand.

[9:31] They have set up their religious leaders and scholars as lords, instead of God. Others deified the Messiah, son of Mary. They were all commanded to worship only one god. There is no god except He. Be He glorified, high above having any partners.

[42:21] They follow idols who decree for them religious laws never authorized by God. If it were not for the predetermined decision, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the transgressors have incurred a painful retribution.

[17:36] You shall not accept any information, unless you verify it for yourself. I have given you the hearing, the eyesight, and the understanding, and you are responsible for using them.

In fact, God has made responsible everyone of us for our own good or detriment that has directly reflected in the following verses of His final scripture:

[4:111] Anyone who earns a sin, earns it to the detriment of his own soul. God is Omniscient, Most Wise.

[4:170] O people, the messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord. Therefore, you shall believe for your own good. If you disbelieve, then to God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. God is Omniscient, Most Wise.

[6:104] Enlightenments have come to you from your Lord. As for those who can see, they do so for their own good, and those who turn blind, do so to their own detriment. I am not your guardian.

[10:23] But as soon as He saves them, they transgress on earth, and oppose the truth. O people, your transgression is only to the detriment of your own souls. You remain preoccupied with this worldly life, then to us is your ultimate return, then we inform you of everything you had done.

[10:108] Proclaim: “O people, the truth has come to you herein from your Lord. Whoever is guided is guided for his own good. And whoever goes astray, goes astray to his own detriment. I am not a guardian over you.”

[17:7] If you work righteousness, you work righteousness for your own good, but if you commit evil you do so to your own detriment. Thus, when the second time comes to pass, they will defeat you and enter the masjid, just as they did the first time. They will wipe out all the gains you had accomplished.

[17:15] Whoever has guided, then he only guides for his soul, and whoever has gone astray, then he only goes against it. No soul will bear a burden of another (soul)

[27:40] The one who possessed knowledge from the book said, “I can bring it to you in the blink of your eye.” When he saw it settled in front of him, he said, “This is a blessing from my Lord, whereby He tests me, to show whether I am appreciative or unappreciative. Whoever is appreciative is appreciative for his own good, and if one turns unappreciative, then my Lord is in no need for him, Most Honorable.”

[27:92] And to recite the Quran. Whoever is guided is guided for his own good, and if they go astray, then say, “I am simply a warner.”

[29:6] Those who strive, strive for their own good. God is in no need of anyone.

[30:44] Whoever disbelieves, disbelieves to the detriment of his own soul, while those who lead a righteous life, do so to strengthen and develop their own souls.

[31:12] We have endowed Luqmãn with wisdom: “You shall be appreciative of God.” Whoever is appreciative is appreciative for his own good. As for those who turn unappreciative, God is in no need, Praiseworthy.

[35:18] No soul can carry the sins of another soul. If a soul that is loaded with sins implores another to bear part of its load, no other soul can carry any part of it, even if they were related. The only people to heed your warnings are those who reverence their Lord, even when alone in their privacy, and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat). Whoever purifies his soul, does so for his own good. To God is the final destiny.

[35:39] He is the One who made you inheritors of the earth. Subsequently, whoever chooses to disbelieve does so to his own detriment. The disbelief of the disbelievers only augments their Lord’s abhorrence towards them. The disbelief of the disbelievers plunges them deeper into loss.

[39:41] We have revealed the scripture to you (Muhammad) for the people with the truth. Then, whoever is guided is guided for his own good, and whoever goes astray goes astray to his own detriment. You are not their advocate.

[41:46] Whoever has done as righteous, so does for his soul, and whoever has done evil, so does against it, while your Lord would not be with unjust for the servants.

[45:15] Whoever has done as a righteous, so does for his soul, and whoever has done evil, so does against it. Then to your Lord you will be returned.

[48:10] Surely, those who pledge allegiance to you, are pledging allegiance to God. God approves their pledge; He places His hand above their hands. Those who violate such a pledge, commit the violation to their own detriment. As for those who fulfill their pledge with God, He will grant them a great recompense.

The Quran also confirms that we all are in charge of our own souls as there is no ransom, help, trade or intercession from other souls will be accepted on the Day of Judgment:

[2:48] Beware of the day when no soul can avail another soul, no intercession will be accepted, no ransom can be paid, nor can anyone be helped.

[2:123] Beware of the day when no soul will help another soul, no ransom will be accepted, no intercession will be useful, and no one will be helped.

[2:254] O you who believe, you shall give to charity from the provisions we have given to you, before a day comes where there is no trade, no nepotism, and no intercession. The disbelievers are the unjust.

[3:91] Those who disbelieve and die as disbelievers, an earthfull of gold will not be accepted from any of them, even if such a ransom were possible. They have incurred painful retribution; they will have no helpers.

[5:36] Certainly, those who disbelieved, if they possessed everything on earth, even twice as much, and offered it as ransom to spare them the retribution on the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted from them; they have incurred a painful retribution.

[6:70] You shall disregard those who take their religion in vain, as if it is a social function, and are totally absorbed in this worldly life. Remind with this (Quran), lest a soul may suffer the consequences of its evil earnings. It has none beside God as a Lord and Master, nor an intercessor. If it could offer any kind of ransom, it would not be accepted. They suffer the consequences of the evil works they earn; they have incurred hellish drinks, and a painful retribution because of their disbelief.

[14:31] Exhort My servants who believed to observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), and to give (to charity) from our provisions to them, secretly and publicly, before a day comes where there is neither trade, nor nepotism.

[57:15] “Therefore, today no ransom can be taken from you, nor from those who disbelieved. Your abode is the fire; it is your lord, and miserable abode.”

The prophecy in the Quran to send a messenger after delivering all the scriptures has been fulfilled (3:81, 33:7). The message sent with him is the knowledge of unveiling the mathematical coding of Quran (74:30-37) supported by a great miracle, the number 19 (74:30, 74:35) also being the common denominator of figures obtained from numerical analysis of Quran to purify God’s religion removing all corruptions from it for the present and subsequent generations of people. It is a God given opportunity for all the people of all faiths to get back to His religion witnessing the physical proofs that the Quran is from God to be the only source of our religious teachings and laws. If we could accept the message sent with him removing all kinds of jealousy from our hearts, it would help us to understand what we need to believe and practice to please Him before our return to our Creator confirming with the physical facts:

[3:81] And when God took a covenant from the prophets: “Whatever I have given you of the scripture and wisdom, then a messenger comes to you confirming what is with you. You shall believe in him and support him.” He said: “Do you agree and pledge to fulfill this covenant?” They said: “We agree.” He said: “You have thus borne witness, and I bear witness along with you.”
[33:7] And we took from the prophets their covenant, and from you (Muhammad), and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus the son of Mary. And we took from them a solemn covenant.

[74:30] Over it is nineteen.
[74:31] And we have not made guardians of the Fire except angels, and we have not made their number except a warning for those who disbelieved, that it may ascertain those who have been given the scripture (Jews and Christians) and may increase faith of those who have believed (Muslims), and may not doubt those who have been given the scripture (Jews and Christians) and the believers (Muslims). And that may say those in their hearts there is a disease (hypocrites) and the disbelievers, “What has God meant by this allegory?” Thus, God misguides whomever He wills and He guides whomever He wills. And none knows your Lord’s soldiers except He. And it is not except a reminder for the human race.
[74:32-34] Nay, (I swear) by the moon. And the night as it passes. And the morning as it shines.
[74:35] Indeed, it is undoubtedly, one of the greatest (signs).
[74:36-37] A warning for the human race. For whoever among you has wished that he may advance or he may stay behind.

We get into the Hereafter through our death leaving our bodies on earth but with our requital either to suffer the retribution of Hell being the unrighteous or to enjoy the happiness of Paradise being the righteous. The soulless bodies are either buried or burned to ashes to prevent environment pollution. However, our requital is not changed whether the funeral prayer for the deceased is observed or not. We also need to understand that God has encouraged the believers to implore Him, and the funeral prayer is one of these circumstances where we can implore Him. Though it is an opportunity for the living ones to remember God to grow their soul but God has warned us not to attend the funeral prayer or stand at the grave of someone if we know he/she has been destined to go Hell. This warning teaches us that God has defined criteria (standard and measure) that anyone can use them to be sure about his/her destination as well as others prior to leaving this world. This warning is so clear that if we still overlook or ignore them being heedless, we will fall into jeopardy that cannot be recovered by any means, especially expecting mercy from God that He will forgive us any way or intercession will take place to save us would be a big mistake. However, on the Day of Judgment, our requital will be precised upon restoring our souls into our bodies giving us an opportunity to verify our own records being our own judge to confirm that God is never unjust towards people and He is the most efficient in reckoning. The unrighteous will be committed to enter Hell through any of its seven gates to suffer a specific share of his retribution in it whereas the righteous will be granted either High Heaven or Lower Heaven in accordance with their ranks attained at God:

[4:78] Wherever you are, death will catch up you, even if you live in lofty towers. When something good happens to them, they say, “This is from God,” and when something bad afflicts them, they blame you. Say, “Everything comes from God.” Why do these people misunderstand almost everything?

[9:84] You shall not observe the funeral prayer for any of them when he dies, nor shall you stand at his grave. They have disbelieved in God and His messenger, and died in a state of wickedness.

[8:50] If you could only see those who disbelieved when the angels put them to death! They will beat them on their faces and their rear ends: “Taste the retribution of Hell.

[47:27] How will it be for them when the angels put them to death? They will beat them on their faces and their rear ends.

[16:32] The angels terminate their lives in a state of righteousness, saying, “Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise (now) as a reward for your works.”

[36:26] (At the time of his death) he was told, “Enter Paradise.” He said, “Oh, I wish my people knew.

[81:7] The souls are restored to their bodies.

[81:10] The records are made known.

[81:14] Every soul will know what it has brought.

[69:19] As for the one who receives his record with his right hand, he will say, “Come read my record.

[69:25] As for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “Oh, I wish I never received my record.

[22:10] This is what your hands have sent ahead for you. God is never unjust towards the people.

[40:17] On that day, every soul will be requited for whatever it had earned. There will be no injustice on that day. God is most efficient in reckoning.

[16:111] The day will come when every soul will serve as its own advocate, and every soul will be paid fully for whatever it had done, without the least injustice.

[53:38] No soul bears the sins of another soul.

[15:44] It (Hell) will have seven gates. Each gate will get a specific share of them.

[46:19] They all attain the ranks they have deserved, in accordance with their works. He will pay them for their works, without the least injustice.

[57:12] The day will come when you see the believing men and women with their lights radiating ahead of them (High Heaven) and to their right (Lower Heaven). Good news is yours that, on that day, you will have gardens with flowing streams. You will abide therein forever. This is the great triumph.

Death is not a mystery to the believers who have studied the Quran carefully. It informs us that either the recompense of the righteous or the retribution of the unrighteous starts immediately followed by death while their requital will be précised on the Day of Judgment as God is the most efficient in reckoning. However, it is clear from the discussion that the prime objective of the religion given to the humanity by God is to save their individual soul in the Hereafter. Thus, our primary concern is “I” NOT “He”, “She” or “They” or practicing religion just to maintain relationship or expecting appreciation from others. Our focus is often diverted to what will happen to him, her or them etc. for their outstanding contribution to the humanity but why are we not trying to avoid thread bare discussion about it leaving their consequences with God who created them? God has confirmed that if anyone accepts His guidance, the Quran, the final scripture as a valid source of religious teachings and laws and use them to glorify and praise Him to please Him will enjoy the eternal happiness of Paradise but if anyone accepts man-made teachings and doctrines such as Hadith & Sunnah (Muslims), Trinity (Christians), Talmud & Mishnah (Jews) including any other books published by scholars of different faiths and sects will suffer the everlasting painful retribution of Hell. Now it is up to us whether we would make a move to understand our religion given by God as it is reshaped according to His will with the knowledge revealed through His messenger, to perfect our belief and practices, and to lead a righteous life or we would continue what we are believing and practicing today blindly following our parents and ignorant scholars considering it the best way to do that:
[39:27] We have cited for the people every kind of example in this Quran, that they may take heed.

Peaceful Friday, salaam and God bless.
Tafazzal (2/12/2016)
